て不必要な風洞部を廃して上下方向にコンパクト化した

斜視図で、前面パネル1に操作摘子3、グリル状の前面
側吸込口4及びグリル状の前面側吹出口5を、外箱2の
両側壁にグリル状の側面側吸込口6を設け、窓枠1に固
着された遮蔽板8に後述する凝器器9、冷却用の室外空

を前面パネルに、この蒸発器の両側面部に対応する側面
側吸込口を外箱に設けてファンノズル孔へ室内空気が吸
い込まれる主空気流路を形成する一方、前記ファンケー
シングに渦巻状側板の周囲から冷却室の外箱まで延出さ
れる張出板を設けると共にこの張出板の両側面側に一次
吸込口を背面側に二次吸込口をそれぞれ設けて前記側面
側吸込口から一次吸込口、二次吸込口、ドラム型蒸発器
の背面部を順次繰てファンノズル孔へ室内空気が吸い込
まれる補助空気流路を形成したものであるから、冷却室
が上下方向とコンパクト化された空気調和機を提供でき
ると共に冷却室の背面に吸込口を設けることなく、蒸発
器の背面部と室内空気とを効率良く熱交換でき熱交換能
力を向上でき、更には冷却室の外箱に別個に吸込口を設
けていないので構成が簡単であり、特に本体背面が室外
に面したり取付面と近接して取付けられる空気調和機に
用いて好適である。
