Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure easily and continuously flatness of a metallic sheet material regardless of its degree, by measuring an image of a thin and linear light source reflected on the metallic sheet with a sensor. CONSTITUTION:A light source 11 is thin and linear, and is provided parallelly on a surface plate 1, and a sensor 12 is provided to a position shifted from the source 11 on the plate 1. In case of measuring the flatness of the metallic sheet 2, the sheet 2 is placed on the plate 1 under the source 11 and an image 13 of the source 11 reflected on the sheet 2 is measured by the sensor 12. In this case, a continuous measurement is possible by moving the sheet 2.

Structure of the Invention In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, in the present invention, while a metal sheet is moved in one direction, a thin linear light source provided on the metal sheet and extending in a direction intersecting the moving direction of the metal sheet is provided. The flatness is measured by measuring the image reflected on the sheet using a sensor.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing the procedure for measuring flatness according to the method of the present invention. In the figure, 11 is a light source, and 12 is a sensor such as a two-dimensional image sensor. The light source 11 is a thin straight line provided in parallel on the surface plate 1, and the sensor 12 is provided at a position offset from the light source 11 on the surface plate 1.

In this case, continuous measurement is possible by moving the metal sheet 2 in the direction of the arrow (direction that intersects the direction in which the light source 11 extends). According to such a method, the flatness of each part can be continuously measured regardless of the size of the flatness, and the work is much easier than when using a conventional block gauge.
