However, all of these conventional connectors have a large number of terminals arranged on a flat surface, so that, for example, the front projected area of the connector is large compared to the number of terminals.
For this reason, conventional connectors have a very poor space factor when attached to various electronic devices, and tend to be unsuitable especially for small electronic devices. The present invention has been devised to correct the above-mentioned defects, and provides (a) a plug having a substantially rod-like shape, and having a plurality of conductive terminals provided on its outer circumferential surface.

The large number of terminals 35a and 35b constitute so-called spring contacts each made of a leaf spring member, and these terminals are arranged in two parallel rows with an interval of 180 degrees. Lead wire connecting ends 36a, 36b of these terminals 35a, 35b are projected to the outside of the main body 25, and lead wires (not shown) are connected to these, respectively. Further, at the center of the inner surface of the other end 25b of the main body 25, there is a circular recess 3T in which the projection T can rotate in a fitted state.

First, the protrusion 11 of the plug 1 is aligned with the notch 30 of the jack 2, and the plug 1 is inserted into the jack 2 from the axial direction as shown in FIG. At this time, by applying the protrusion 11 to the notch 30, so-called misalignment, such as the plug 1 being oriented upside down, is prevented.

Both slits 20a and 20b are connected to both protrusions 1a and 29b.
By fitting the plug 1 to the jack 2, the 9th
It becomes possible to rotate 90° clockwise in Figures A to 1IB. Therefore, when the plug 1 is rotated 90 degrees clockwise after the above insertion is completed, both slits 2 are opened as shown in Fig. 10B.
0a, 20b are fitted into both protrusions 29a, 29b, and both groove bottoms 21a, 21b of both slits 20a, 20b abut against two surfaces 28a of both protrusions 29a, 29b, preventing further rotation. At the same time, the complete fitting of these two prevents the plug 1 from being removed later.

As described above, the present invention consists of a plug configured in a substantially rod shape and a jack configured in a substantially cylindrical shape, and a plurality of conductive terminals are provided on the outer and inner circumferential surfaces of these, and the plug is inserted into the jack. Since these conductive terminals are brought into contact with each other by being rotated by a predetermined angle, the front projected area can be made very small compared to the number of terminals.

Therefore, a very compact product can be obtained as a whole, and a product which is very advantageous as a multi-terminal connector for various small devices such as a liquid crystal watch or a small calculator can be obtained. In addition, almost the entire plug can be inserted into the jack, and the opening on the jack side required for insertion can be made very small, just enough to match the diameter of the plug, making it a great connector. A very good seal can be obtained.
