In a gear transmission in which a synchromesh device is disposed on the axis of the countershaft, the shift fork that provides shift operation force to the synchromesh device slides relative to the fork shaft only within a certain range. On the other hand, on the axis of the other fork shaft, when this fork shaft is viewed as a stationary side, the fork shaft moves relative to the fork shaft in the direction of moving away from each other in the soft direction, and conversely, the fork shaft moves in the direction of moving toward each other. A pair of blocks are provided that move together with the shaft, and a shape memory alloy spring is interposed between these two blocks, and one of the blocks is provided with a shape memory alloy spring interposed between the two blocks, and one of the blocks receives the force from the spring in the same direction as the shift operation direction of the shift fork.
