CONSTITUTION:Flat parts 25 and 26 are formed respectively on each of edge parts 22 and 23 of a supporting leg part 20 and a clamp component 21 protruding from a main body 4 of a roof rack. The flat parts 25 and 26 are made to touch the top and bottom of a car body component, concretely the top 24 of a side edge part 13 of a roof panel 14 and the bottom 17 of a drip channel 12 respectively. 的には、ルーフ2側部の車体部材は、ルーフサイトレー
ル10、該ルーフサイトレール10に接合された雨樋1
1形成用のドリップチャンネル12、及び該ドリップチ
ーヤンネル12に側線部13が接合されたルーフパネル
14等から力っており、上記ドリップチャンネル12が
車体側方最外部に位置することと々り且つ剛性をも備え
ていることから、該ドリップチャンネル12に上記支持
脚部7及びクランプ部材9を取付けてルーフラック本体
4を支持させるようにしている。この支持脚部7及びク
ランプ部材9の取付けに際しては、まず、クランプ部材
9を取外した状態でルーフランク3をルーフ2上に位置
させて支持脚部7の先端部15をドリップチャンネル1
2上に載置・支持させる。次いで、クランプ部材9の先
端部16をドリノブチヤンネル12の下面17に当接さ
せた状態にした後、支持脚部7とクランプ部材9とをボ
ルト・ナツト8にて締付け・固定することで、支持脚部
7とクランプ部材9とが略水平方向(第2図矢印方向)
に引きつけられてドリップチャンネル12を挟持するよ
うになっている。

しまうこととなるものでおり、更には支持脚部7及びク
ランプ部材9の挟持力はドリップチャンネル12に対し
て略水平方向に作用する状態となっているので、トリッ
プチャンネル12にモールディング(図示せず)を取付
けている場合などにはモールディングが挟持力により変
形してしまうこともち知また、略水平方向の挟持力では
確実且つ安定した取付状態が得られ難いという問題点が
