PURPOSE:To prevent interference between exhaust gases discharged from each cylinder and contrive to enhance exhaust efficiency, by a method wherein each of independent exhaust passages provided for the exhaust gas silencer is fitted the respective exhaust port of each cylinder provided at a cylinder head of a multi-cylinder internal-combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:Each of the independent exhaust passages 2A, 2B provided for the exhaust gas silencer 3 is fitted to the respective exhaust port of each cylinder provided at the cylinder heat 1 of a multi-cylinder internal-combustion engine, the passages 2A, 2B are so provided that the silencer 3 is located at the side surface part of a cylinder block 6, and a part 8 of the silencer 3 is firmly fixed to the stay 9 of the cylinder block 6 through a bolt 9. In this exhaust gas silencer device, interferences between exhaust gases discharged from each of the cylinders are prevented, the exhaust efficiency can be enhanced, and the device can be firmly fitted to the main body of the engine.
