The present invention provides an automatic lap welding device that can freely switch the welding torch from downward welding to horizontal horizontal welding, or from horizontal horizontal welding to downward welding, while the traveling truck remains installed. The purpose is to reduce man-hours, improve quality, and reduce costs by making it possible to automate the welding of A torch head equipped with a trolley and a welding torch that are movably adjustable and installed near one of the lap joints of a material to be welded having first and second lap joints at the same distance so as to run along the welding line; The torch head supporting member that connects these is connected by swinging the torch head between the first lap joint part and the second lap joint part about the pin in a first pin parallel to the welding line. The welding torch is pivoted in such a manner that the welding torch is rotated by 180° using a second pin located on a plane perpendicular to the welding line, and the direction of the welding torch is reversed on the welding line. The structure of the present invention, which is characterized by the following, will be explained in detail based on a specific example shown in the drawings.

In this way, according to the automatic welding device of the present invention, the torch head 18 can be rotated by 90 degrees around the first pin 12 to tilt it, and the torch head 18 can be rotated by 180 degrees around the second pin 17 to change the orientation of the welding torch 19. By reversing the two movements, it is possible to easily and accurately switch from downward welding to horizontal horizontal welding, or from horizontal horizontal welding to downward welding. Lap welding of materials to be welded, as shown in FIG. 1, in which the edges are approximately equidistant from the corners, can be performed in one time using the apparatus, and the number of welding steps can be shortened by shortening the preparation time.
