Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the treatment of a conventional base material prior to film formation unnecessary by sticking a lubricant to parts obtd. by direct hardening after carbonitriding in an atmosphere contg. excess nitrogen and by tempering the parts at a low temp. CONSTITUTION:Parts are carbonitrided at 800-950 deg.C in an atmosphere contg. excess nitrogen and hardened by quenching. A lubricant such as thermosetting dry molybdenum disulfide is stuck to the resulting parts, and the parts are tempered at a low temp. such as 150-200 deg.C. The conventional treatment of the base material prior to the film formation is eliminated, so an economical treatment stage is realized.

The so-called carbonitriding process, in which nitrogen is added to the surface of steel along with carbon, is used to harden the surface of various parts. A treatment to form an IIV4 lubricant film of molybdenum disulfide (MoS, 1, etc.) is further performed on the treated part surface. However, in order to form the lubricant film more firmly, the part surface (so-called base) is It is necessary to maintain conditions favorable for film treatment, and pretreatments such as sol-notoplast and chemical conversion treatments are usually performed.

For this purpose, a lubricant is deposited on the surface of the parts obtained by direct quenching after carbonitriding in a nitrogen-rich atmosphere, and then the parts are tempered at a low temperature. If additional surface treatment is not required, we have established a second lubricating film formation process.

Next, a thermosetting dry molybdenum disulfide (MoS) lubricant is applied to the component having such a surface porous layer by spraying, dipping, coating, etc., and then,
A tempering treatment that is normally performed on carburized and nitrided parts is performed. This tempering treatment is a low-temperature treatment at 150 to 200°C, and the MoS and lubricant are hardened due to the tempering treatment. However, on the surface of parts with surface porosity as described above, the lubricant tends to adhere, and some of the lubricant penetrates into the porous layer, making it strong. A lubricating film will be formed.

As explained above in detail, the heat treatment method for forming a lubricating film according to 1v] is a carbonitriding process (7) in which a porous layer is formed near the surface of the part in a nitrogen-excess atmosphere, and a porous layer is formed near the part surface for subsequent film treatment. It is designed to provide an advantageous one-piece surface, and the conventionally required base treatment before film treatment is no longer necessary, making it possible to realize a cheaper treatment process. It has been confirmed that Z is durable (also confirmed).
