Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a transfer defect, especially, at high moisture, by providing a brush on a cover of a pretransfer lamp for preventing a transfer defect so that the optical path of the lamp is not intercepted by the brush and preventing a toner from sticking to the light emitting face of the lamp. CONSTITUTION:The pretransfer lamp (PTL) 9 for preventing the transfer defect which gives an intense light beam to a photoreceptor 3 to weaken the electric charge of an electrostatic latent image is provided between a developing machine 5 and a from guide plate 4, and a floating toner is stuck to the light emitting face of the PTL 9 by the air current generated when the photoreceptor 3 is rotated.
