Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to lubricate and cool an engine effectively, by making lubricating oil flow smoothly by forming a connecting passage for returning lubricating oil to an oil pan after using it for lubricating a valve driving mechanism and a fuel injection means. CONSTITUTION:A passage 18 for returning lubricating oil directly to an oil pan 15 in a drive unit case 1 after use for lubricating a cylinder head portion 6 and a valve arm chamber 7 is formed in an engine mount 8. By the function of the passage 18, lubricating oil used for lubricating a valve driving means, a fuel injection means, etc. can be returned directly to the oil pan 15 without returning the lubricating oil once to a cylinder block 16. Thus, since lubricating oil is made to flow smoothly and stagnation of lubricating oil flow in an engine 5 is minimized, it is enabled to lubricate and cool the engine effectively and at the same time to reduce consumption of lubricating oil.

In a drive unit case in which an oil pan is provided, a passage is required to return lubricating oil from the engine above the drive unit to the oil pan. In this case, the lubricating oil path on the engine side is supplied from the crankshaft side through the cylinder block, from the cylinder head to the valve arm chamber side, and the lubricating oil that has lubricated this valve arm chamber is returned to the cylinder block side again. The oil is returned to the oil pan from this cylinder block. Therefore, the lubricating oil that has lubricated and cooled the valve arm chamber and the cylinder head is sent to the cylinder block at one end and then returned to the oil pan. On the other hand, in an OHC engine, the valve mechanism such as the camshaft is located on the cylinder head side, so the parts that require lubrication are biased towards this cylinder head side. There is a request to return the oil to the oil pan to improve the flow. The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems, and it is possible to form lubricating oil that lubricates and cools the valve, valve arm, camshaft, fuel injection device, etc. in the valve arm chamber and the cylinder head part on the engine mount. The oil is returned directly to the oil pan from the return passage.

In this embodiment, the engine (5) is arranged horizontally with the cylinder head (6) and valve arm chamber (7) facing rearward, and the engine mount (8) has a third
As shown in the figure, a lubricating oil communication passage (21) is formed adjacent to one side in the left and right direction of the exhaust drainage passage (20) and is recessed from the top surface of the engine mount (8). The lubricating oil communication passageway (21) has its rear part directly communicating with the lubricating oil outlet hole (22) from the cylinder head (6) and the valve arm chamber (7), so that The lubricating oil in the valve arm chamber (7) is directly discharged without passing through the cylinder block (16),
Further, the front portion of the exhaust communication passage (21) communicates with the lubricating oil communicating hole (18), and the lubricating oil is returned from the communicating hole (18) into the oil pan (15). In the figure (
L) shows the lubricating oil level when it is filled, and at this time, the lubricating oil level has reached the lubricating oil communication hole (18), so this communication hole (18) is connected to a part of the oil pan (15). You can look at it as

Incidentally, to explain the structure of the installation of the cooling water discharge hose (31) provided adjacent to the exhaust drainage passage (20), as shown in FIG.
At the rear position of the exhaust drainage passage (20), the rear wall surface is recessed into a concave shape, and the earth wall of this recess (32) penetrates to the upper surface of the engine mount (8), and the plug is attached through the hole (33). ) is drilled. To install this plug, a plug (34) is inserted into the hole (33) from the recess (32) side, and the upper end of a discharge hose (31) is connected to the hole (33). engine(
The discharge hose (31) protrudes downward from the bottom wall (4a) of the cover (4) surrounding the engine (5), and discharges a portion of the cooling water in the engine (5) to the outside through this discharge hose (31), thereby improving the circulation of the cooling water. The situation can be viewed from the outside. In this case, the discharge hose (31) is normally attached to the side of the main body of the engine (5), but in this case, it passes between the cover (4) and the side wall of the engine (5). Therefore, this discharge hose (31) must be led out to the outside, and thus the engine (5
) The discharge hose (31) has the disadvantage that it is easily damaged when exposed to the heat of the engine mount (8), but this disadvantage is solved by connecting it to the engine mount (8) as described above. At the same time, by connecting this discharge hose (31) to the engine mount (8), the effect of easy processing and die casting is also obtained.

As described above, according to the present invention, a passage is formed in the engine mount to directly return the lubricating oil that has lubricated the cylinder head section and the valve arm chamber to the oil pan of the drive unit case, and the passage is formed in the engine mount to return the lubricating oil that has lubricated the cylinder head section and the valve arm chamber directly to the valve arm instead of returning the lubricating oil to the cylinder block. The lubricating oil used to lubricate the valve gear, camshaft, etc., fuel injection device, etc. can be returned directly to the oil pan, which improves the flow of lubricating oil, unlike the case where the lubricating oil is returned to the cylinder at one end. This has resulted in the following effects: less stagnation of the lubricating oil, better lubrication and cooling, and less consumption of the lubricating oil.
