Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an unnecessary consumption of the daytime power supply and to prevent an occurrence of a power consumption peak by so constructing that when a predetermined quantity of hot water is consumed, the electricity is automatically supplied to a heater for daytime power use by a water supply integrating meter means. CONSTITUTION:A power supply control means 12 that controls the power supply to a heater 5 for daytime power use based on signals from a water supply integrating meter means 11 and a water temperature detection means 9 has a volume 13 for setting a hot water temperature and a volume 14 for setting an integrated value of water supply. In tis constitution, the power supply control means 12 turns off the daytime heater 5 and clears the water supply integrated value to zero while the nighttime power can be used. Outside such hours, based on signals from a water supply integrating means 11 and a water temperature detection means 9, it works so that the daytime heater may be operated when the water supply integrated value is above the set value and the water temperature is below the set value.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an electric water heater of a hot water storage type that uses late-night power and daytime power.

Conventional structure and its problems As shown in Fig. 1, this conventional small electric water heater has a hot water tank 1 with a water supply pipe 2 connected to the bottom and a hot water outlet pipe 3 connected to the top. The heater 4 and the heater 6 for daytime power are installed, and the heater 4 for late night power is turned off. It was connected to a power source via a time switch 8 for controlling the past hours and a thermostat 6 provided near the heater, and the daytime power heater 6 was connected to the power source via a thermostat 7.

In such a configuration, the daytime power thermostat 7 is located at the bottom of the hot water tank 1 and is at the same height as the nighttime power thermostat 6, so as soon as water is added to the hot water tank 1 due to hot water tap, the thermostat is turned on. When the water is turned on, waste heat from the expanding water and heat radiation from the tank surface increase, which is uneconomical and reduces the amount of hot water (it also operates at the intersection, resulting in frequent on/off cycles and shortened durability).

Furthermore, since the heater 6 for daytime power is energized whenever the thermostat turns on, it may be energized even during late-night power supply, resulting in a power peak. For this reason, in apartment buildings, etc., the power receiving equipment is energized.
It was necessary to make it large to accommodate 7.

Furthermore, daytime power, which is more expensive than late-night power, is always supplied, which is very economically disadvantageous. To avoid this, a manual switch 10 is provided to arbitrarily turn on the power to the daytime power heater 5. Although it could be done, it was very cumbersome and practically impossible for daily operation.

In this configuration, when a predetermined amount of hot water is supplied according to a signal from the water supply amount integrating means, power is automatically supplied to the heater for daytime power, and power is not supplied during the time when power can be supplied late at night. Since this is not carried out, it is possible to prevent wasteful daytime power supply and also to prevent power peaks from occurring, resulting in energy-saving and economical power supply.

DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIG. In FIG. 2, the lower part of the hot water storage tank 1 has a water supply pipe 2 installed at the lower part and a hot water outlet pipe 3 connected to the upper part.
A heater 4 for late-night power use and a heater 6 for daytime power use are installed above the heaters 4 and 6, and a hot water temperature detection means 9 for detecting the temperature of hot water in the hot water storage tank 1 is installed, and a water supply amount integrating means 11 and a hot water temperature detection means are installed above the heaters 4 and 6. An energization control means 12 is provided which receives a signal from the means 9 and controls the energization of the heater 6 for daytime power. Further, the energization control means 12 is provided with a volume 13 for setting the hot water temperature and a volume 14 for setting the integrated value of water supply.

In the above configuration, as shown in FIG. 3, the energization control means 12 turns off the daytime power heater 6 and clears the water supply amount integrated value to zero during the time when late-night power can be energized, but otherwise. In response to signals from the water supply amount integrating means 11 and the hot water temperature detecting means 9, the daytime power heater is operated when the water supply amount integrated value is above the set value and the hot water temperature is below the set value.
