CONSTITUTION:A metal wire filter 4 is inserted into the inlet 21 of an exhaust pipe 2 on the engine side or into an exhaust pipe 2 at an inlet 31 of a muffler 3. This metal wire filter 4 is formed by piling metal-net-shaped, heat resisting metal wires, which are 0.1-0.5mm. in dia. and 5 to 40 in mesh, up to 2 to 30mm. in thickness. With this contrivance, flames that go into the exhaust pipe 2 from a combustion chamber is suppressed by the metal wire filter 4, preventing afterburn.
