Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled recorder capable of regulating the sucking force with simple mechanism and of securely recovering the discharge of liquid drop, by regulating the sucking force by conducting the atmosphere when the sucking force generated by sucking means exceeds a fixed value. CONSTITUTION:The sucking force regulating apparatus 21 equipped with sucking force regulation valve 22 is connected to the suction tube 18 connecting with a suction pump 10 and a cap 19. The atmosphere is introduced into the sucking force regulation apparatus 21 by drawing in the sucking force regulation valve 22 against the force of spring by a sucking force of over a fixed value, and the sucking force generated with suction pump 10 decreased by the introduced atmosphere. Therefore, it does not exceed the fixed value.

In recent years, non-impact recording methods have attracted attention because they generate extremely little noise during recording. Among them, the liquid jet recording method, which records by attaching flying droplets to a recording member, has the advantage of being able to record on plain paper without requiring any special processing such as so-called fixing, and that high-speed ML recording is possible. It is attracting attention in this respect.

However, since the liquid jet recording method ejects droplets from a narrow orifice, the ejection of droplets may stop due to foreign matter such as paper dust getting stuck in the orifice, or if the device is not used for a long period of time, the recording liquid ( There have been cases where the solvent in the liquid) evaporates at or near the orifice and the remaining solute becomes an obstruction, stopping the ejection of droplets.

Also, because the dissolved gas in the liquid is gas released from the liquid or gas that has entered due to other reasons, if the liquid does not exist continuously to the tip of the orifice, there will be insufficient ejection to eject the droplets. There were cases in which the energy was not transmitted to the liquid, or even if energy was transmitted at L7, no droplets were ejected, or the ejection became unstable. Historically, there have been cases where υ) the amount of liquid discharged due to gas is not equal to the amount of liquid -') k is not supplied, resulting in unstable discharge or non-discharge as described above j) Ivy.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, a recovery operation is generally performed by pressurizing the liquid or sucking the liquid from the orifice side to restore normal droplet ejection.

However, with the former method, when the recovery occurs or when the orifice is only clogged, the liquid overflows the orifice and adheres to the area around the orifice, making the discharge even more unstable and causing the liquid in the liquid to overflow and adhere to the area around the orifice. There were cases where the solvent evaporated and caused clogging. In that respect,
Although the latter method is an excellent method, in the latter case, it is difficult to balance the suction force and the force for removing the cause of droplet non-ejection, and bubbles may be generated due to cavitation during the recovery operation.

In addition, in the case of recovery by suction, if there is no liquid in the liquid chamber, when the recovery means is opened from the orifice while the recording head side is depressurized, the atmosphere will flow backwards from the atmosphere side, making it impossible to operate the package at all. There were cases where +f was not applied. Historically, when a filter is installed to prevent foreign matter from clogging the orifice + Mi, air enters the filter.

The suction pump 10 for generating suction force generates suction force by lowering the piston 12 and suctions air or liquid from the suction tubes 9 and 18. The sucked atmospheric air or 15 liquid passes through the valve 15 to the piston 12 when the piston 12 is pressed by the spring 16.
It moves downwards, passes through the waste liquid tube 1, and is collected in the waste liquid reservoir.

The suction force adjusting means includes a suction force adjusting device 21 equipped with a suction force adjusting valve 22 whose opening strength is adjusted by a spring as shown in FIG. In this embodiment, the suction force adjustment device 21 communicates with a suction pipe 18 that communicates with the suction pump 10 and the cap 19, and when the suction force exceeds a certain value, the suction force adjustment valve 22 resists the force of the spring. The atmospheric air is drawn into the suction force adjustment device 21 by being drawn in. The suction force generated by the suction pump 10 is reduced by the atmospheric air drawn into the suction force adjustment device 21, so that it never exceeds a predetermined value.

The suction force adjustment means can be provided inside the cap 19, inside the suction pump 10, or inside the suction tube 9, in addition to providing the suction force adjustment device 21 in the suction tube 18 as in this embodiment. In addition, in this embodiment, the suction force adjustment valve 22 is provided within the suction force adjustment device 21, but the suction force adjustment valve 22 is provided in the suction force adjustment device 21, but the suction force adjustment valve 22 is not directly provided in the gap 19.
.. Suction tube9. Suction tube 18. It may be provided in the suction pump 10 (・0 In this embodiment, the suction tube 9 connects the rough tank 6
Although the structure is such that the air and liquid 4 accumulated inside the tank are also sucked, the suction tube 9 may not be provided as long as an air venting means is provided to remove the air accumulated inside the subtank filter. Further, if the absorbing power is appropriate, air may be vented from the recording head side through the orifice 7 using a capping means without providing an air venting means in the subtank 6.

Both FIGS. 2 and 3 show that the valve 2 is closed by the force of the spring 25.
4 is in close contact with the box 28, and the atmosphere inside the box 28 is communicated with the suction pipe 18 connected to the communication port 2.
It is configured to be sucked through 9. If the suction force does not exceed a certain level, that is, a pressure difference that does not deform the spring 25 is generated between the atmosphere side and the inside of the box body 28, the valve 24 is brought into close contact with the box body 28, and the opening 26 is closed. It will be done. When a difference of more than a certain level occurs between the inside of the box body 28 and the atmospheric force, the spring 25 is deformed by the valve 24. At this time, a gap is created between the valve 24 and the box body 28, and the opening 2
Air flows in from 6. Then, the pressure inside the box body 28 approaches atmospheric pressure, so the valve 24 is brought into close contact with the box body 28 again by the force of the spring 25 and closes the opening 26. Suction bonder 10
The above operation is repeated depending on the situation while the suction force continues.

Similarly to the above-mentioned sides, the valve 30 deforms only when a certain degree of pressure difference is generated between the inside of the box body 28 and the atmosphere, and otherwise closes the spring body 28 and closes the opening 26. It's not even a spear.

The pressure difference that determines the timing of opening and closing each valve is desirably set to a level below which cavitation does not occur even when liquid is sucked by the suction bonder. In particular, in the case of a liquid jet recording device with multiple orifices, the valve is opened when a pressure difference that does not cause cavitation is exceeded even when liquid is sucked from only one of the orifices stored in the cap. It is preferable to determine the strength of the spring and the strength of the elastic body.

In the practical example of the present invention, the suction pump is a manual one, but it may be a pump using other power means such as an electric one.
