Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality photographic print by deciding a negative picture before photographic printing and inputting an order number and the number of prints to a storage means together with discrimination information and controlling the printing work in accordance with stored data. CONSTITUTION:A frame picture on a disc film D to be subjected to photographic printing is observed by an observing device 10 to determine a suitable exposure and a color correction quantity. Data of the decided picture is inputted to a storage means 12 together with print information such as an order number, frame number, the number of prints, etc. by an input device 11. Photographic printing is performed by an automatic photographic printing device 20 where printing is controlled in accordance with a controller 21 which controls printing by input data.

Conventionally, printing multiple photographs on -M photographic paper has been known, for example, from Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 52-404918, but this is a method that allows printing of multiple photographs on -M photographic paper. Two to eight frames were printed on a sheet of photographic paper to facilitate the organization and storage of photographs. On the other hand, the concept of two-dimensionally printing the entire disk film - Autumnal Equinox onto a sheet of photographic paper was first proposed in the specification of Japanese Patent Application No. 1983-208660 filed by the applicant of the present patent. This concept greatly changes the conventional way of thinking about photo prints, goes beyond the concept of simply organizing and storing photos, and provides useful photo prints ranging from commemorative photos to continuous photos of sports and other subjects. Since there are a wide variety of related applications, those directly related to the present invention will be described each time.

The concept of two-dimensionally printing disc film-autumn equinox photographs on a sheet of photographic paper has brought benefits to photographic prints using desk film. That is, since the screen area of one frame of the disc film currently available on the market is small, when printing is performed at the same magnification ratio as that of a 1350-film, the image inevitably becomes rough. However, simply attempting to obtain clear prints by reducing the magnification ratio not only wastes a lot of photographic paper, but also leaves the photographic prints blank with too much blank space.

Therefore, the concept of two-dimensional photographic printing overcomes this difficulty and is beneficial even if the magnification is small.

On the other hand, according to this printing method, if a printing error occurs in a part of the print, unlike the case of one print on a single sheet of photographic paper, the entire print must be printed again, which significantly reduces work efficiency. This results in a decrease in

Note that, due to the qualitative differences in work and the need for speeding up for mass processing, it is desirable that the image judgment device 10 and the photo printing device 20, which will be described later, be separate types. The data of the image is inputted into the storage means 12 by the input device 11 along with print information such as order number, frame number, number of prints, etc.

Various types of storage means 12 can be used, but
The type of means used depends on the image observation device described above and the printing device described later. Commonly considered storage means include magnetic, optical, or audio storage; one is an online system in which input data is directly implanted into the storage device of the printing device, and the other is one that uses a storage medium such as tape or sheet. There is.

In the latter case, there are those in which the storage body is handled separately from the disc film, and those in which the storage body is attached to the disc film and handled as an integral part. In this case, if the storage body can be easily attached to and removed from the disk film and can be reused, an increase in printing costs can be prevented.
