Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent generation of abnormal sounds and promote and facilitate the manufacture of the oil pump by a method wherein the discharge-side opening of a side plate, capable of being worked by a press, is elongated to the opposite direction of the rotation of a gear so that the opening area thereof is decreased gradually toward the same direction. CONSTITUTION:An outer gear 7, an inner gear 6 and a crescent 8 are provided in a housing 2 and the discharge-side opening 11' of the side plate 9, connected to a side surface of the housing, is formed by elongating it into the opposite direction of the rotating direction of the gears 6, 7 so that the opening area is decreased gradually. The elongated part 11a' of the discharge-side opening 11' arrives at the jointing part of the crescent 8 and gears 6, 7, therefore, sudden change of hydraulic pressure may be mitigated by the effect of this communicating part and generation of abnormal sounds may be prevented.
