Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent air from resolution into an ink bag, by maintaining the interior of an ink cartridge in a vacuum during preservation of the ink cartridge before use. CONSTITUTION:A casing body 11 of the ink cartridge is constituted of, for example, a plastic, in which the ink bag 14 is contained in the condition of being communicated with a metallic mouthpiece 12 for supplying an ink, thereafter the casing body 11 is hermetically sealed at a sealing part 41, and air in the interior of the casing body 11 is discharged by suction through an air-passing hole. Thereafter, the hole is sealed up by a hermetically sealing thin film member 42 such as an aluminum foil to prevent air from penetrating into the interior of the casing body 11. In use, namely, when supplying the ink, the thin film member 42 is pierced through by a needle 22 for opening to the atmosphere which is provided separately from an ink-supplying needle 21, thereby opening the interior of the casing body 11 to the atmosphere through, for example, a hole provided in the needle 22.

インク供給用口金12を封止する例えばゴム製の封止部
材15、押圧板16、把手17等より成り、インクカー
トリッジ固定部20には、インクジェットヘッドへイン
クを供給するためのインク供給針21が設けられている
。使用時、上記インクカートリッジ部10は、矢印六方
向よりインク供給針21に差し込まれ、インク袋14内
のインクは該インク供給針21を通してインクジェット
ヘッドへ供給されるが、その際、抑圧装[30にて押圧
板16を押してインク袋14内のインクを強制的にイン
クジェットヘッドに初期充填し、或いは、気泡の排出を
行う。インクカートリッジ筐体11及び押圧板16には
それぞれ開口部+1a、+6aが設けられており、該開
口部を通してインク袋内のインク残量を検知するように

収縮性に問題がある。また、インクカートリッジを更に
何段かのバッグ詰めにする提案もなされているが、イン
クカートリッジ筐体とインク袋間に残留する空気の混入
に対してはどうしようもなか3− った。
