バータ上流を、第１通路と、排気ガス冷却手段を備えた
第２通路とにより並列に構成し、前記第１通路への排気
ガス量を触媒コンバータの温度が高くなる運転状態で増
大させる制御弁を有するエンジンにおいて、前記排気ガ
ス冷却手段が、前記第２通路に隣接して設けた氷室と該
氷室へエンジン冷却水を導く冷却水通路とにより構成さ
れ、該冷却水通路が、吸気管に設けたウォータジャケッ
トと連通していることを特徴とするエンジンの排気ガス
浄化装置。 ・（２）吸気管は、エンジン本体に対し
て排気管と同一方向に接続されているところの実用新案
登録請求の範囲第１項記載のエンジンの排気ガス浄化装
