Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise the efficiency of operations by providing a soil suction mechanism on both sides of the tip of a soil dredging ladder to support a cutter head. CONSTITUTION:The outlets of suction tubes 7a and 7b attached to both sides of the tip of a ladder 1 by turning its suction port downwards are connected to the suction port of a sand pump 9 through a switch valve 8. The outlet of a discharge tube 10 connected to the outlet of the pump 9 is positioned near the suction port of the head 2 and almost rectangular soil collecting plates 11a and 11b are attached on both sides of the tip of the ladder 1 in the direction of being directed to the head 2.
