    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. 本体と可動部材によって形成される開閉可能な搬送路、
    本体側と可動部材側に対向して設けた光源及び光電素子
    からなる紙検出センサを有する紙葉類検出装置において
    、可動部材開閉終了毎に、光電素子の初期出力レベルを
    記憶し、この記憶した基準レベルとその後の紙検出セン
    サ動作時の変動出力レベルとを比較判別し、紙葉類の有
    無を検出するようにしたことを特徴とする紙葉類検出装
    置。
