Claims

[Scope of utility model registration request]

A sorting machine that sorts inserted coins according to their authenticity;
a coin changer that includes a coin detector provided in a passage for sorted genuine coins; timer means for counting a predetermined time; means for enabling counting of inserted coins when a signal responsive to passage of a coin is output from the coin detector during the first predetermined time; and a second predetermined time. An abnormality processing device for a coin changer, comprising means for outputting an abnormality signal on the condition that no signal responsive to passage of a coin is output from the coin detector until the time period elapses.
