Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled device, through which the cutting of the rear end section of a recording section is removed, by providing a detecting means for the outer diameter of the roll of roll-shaped recording paper and a means memorizing and controlling the length of a paper-feed from the result of the detection and feeding and cutting recording paper in length controlled after the completion of recording. CONSTITUTION:In a device which guides recording paper 1a wound in a roll shape to a cutter 5 as a cutting means by a paper-feed roller 3 through a guide roller 2 after the completion of a recording and cuts the paper, an arm 9 as a means detecting the outer diameter of a roll 1 is mounted near the roll 1 of the roll-shaped recording paper 1a and a detecting plate 9b for the rear end of the arm 9 and a sensor 10 are fitted, the detecting result is changed into a code signal corresponding to the outer diameter of the roll 1 by a diameter sensing section 11, the signal is transmitted over a cut-feed control section 12, and a motor 6 driving the paper-feed roller 3 and a plunger 8 driving the cutter 5 are driven in the length of a paper-feed memorized by a memory 13 and under the control of a recording section 4 by a recording control section 14, thus cutting the recording paper 1a.

In the figure, the reference numeral 1 denotes a roll formed of wound recording paper 1a. guided to the recording position. Along with the recording operation by the recording section 4, the recording paper 1a is fed by the drive of the paper feed roller 3 and guided to the cutter 5, which is a cutting means.

When recording is completed, the recording paper 1a is further moved to the paper feed roller 3.
The linear distance between the recording section 4 and the cutter 5 is increased by driving. After being fed by a length equal to the length of the predetermined margin plus the length of the predetermined margin, the cutter 5 (cuts in two).

However, as shown in the figure, the recording paper 1a between the recording section 4 and the cutter 5 is curved in an arc shape. This is due to curls created when the recording paper 1a is wound around a roll.As the diameter of the roll decreases as the recording paper 1a is used, the curls become stronger and the curvature becomes larger. Because of this curvature, the recording paper 1a is moved in a straight line. Even if the recording paper 1a is fed by a predetermined margin length, the cutter 5 does not reach the position where the recording paper 1a is to be cut, that is, the position where a predetermined margin is added after the trailing edge of the recording.

If cutting is performed in the above-mentioned condition, the margin following the trailing edge of the recorded portion of the cut recording paper 1a will be shorter than specified, and in some cases, the margin will be cut at the trailing edge of the recorded portion. The rear end of the recorded portion is cut off, and the recorded information in that portion is lost.

The configuration of the parts described above is the same as the conventional one, but in the present invention, an arm 9 is provided near the roll 1 for detecting the outer diameter of the roll 1. This arm 9 is pivotally supported by a fulcrum 9a near the roll 1, and is given the habit of rotating counterclockwise in the figure. The tip of the arm 9 is in contact with the outer circumference of the roll 1, and the rear end is provided with a detection plate 9b.
is fixed (3). The position of the arm 9 shown in the figure is the position immediately after the start of use of the roll 1 when the outer diameter of the roll 1 is at its maximum.

The sensor 10 is arranged facing the position of the detection plate 9b of the arm 9 when it is in the above position. This sensor 10 is composed of, for example, a photointerrupter, and detects the position of the detection plate 9b, and outputs different signals in accordance with a change in the position, that is, a change in the outer diameter of the hole 1.

For example, as the recording paper 1a is consumed in the figure, when the outer diameter of the roll 1 changes to 1' indicated by a dotted line, the arm 9 rotates counterclockwise and the outer diameter of the roll 1 changes to 9' indicated by a dotted line. The detection plate 9b moves to the position 9b', and this positional change is optically detected by the sensor 10.

In addition, the memory 13 has the length necessary for feeding the paper between the recording section 4 and the cutter 5, including the curved valve due to the winding pattern according to the outer diameter of the recording paper 1a, and the length of the recording paper 1a plus the length of the predetermined margin. is memorized. This paper feeding length is stored in correspondence with the code signal of the diameter sensing section 11 according to the outer diameter of the roll 1. When feeding the paper after recording is completed, the cut/feed control section 14 sets the paper feeding length based on the paper feeding length data in the memory 13 corresponding to the code signal input from the diameter sensing section 11.

In S9, the paper is fed by the paper feed length set in any one of steps S5 to S7. That is, in step S8, the step motor 6 is started again to feed the paper, and in step S9, it is determined whether or not the paper has been fed by the previously set length. In the above operation (=), the paper feed after the recording is completed is carried out at a predetermined length necessary for feeding the paper between the recording section 4 and the cutter, including the curved part due to the curling according to the outer diameter of the recording paper 1a. The cutting is performed by the length of the margin valve plus the length of the margin valve. Therefore, cutting is always performed at a position where the margin within a predetermined range is added to the rear edge of the recorded portion of the recording paper 1a. does not occur.

In the above embodiment, the outer diameter of the roll 1 was detected in three stages, and the paper feed length was set in three stages based on the detection. Of course, the number of steps to set the feed length is not limited to this, and may be set to a larger number. In this case, the range of variation in the length of the margin between the trailing edge of the recorded portion of the recording paper and the cut edge becomes smaller.

Effects As is clear from the above description, the present invention (-) includes a means for detecting the outer diameter of a roll of recording paper in a recording paper cutting device of the type mentioned at the beginning, and a cutting means for detecting the outer diameter of a roll of recording paper after completion of recording according to the detection result. By adopting a configuration that includes means for storing and controlling the paper feed length of the recording paper that is fed to the end, it is possible to prevent the loss of recorded information due to cutting off the trailing edge of the recorded portion when cutting the recording paper after recording is completed. Then, you can add appropriate margins and cut it properly.
