Abstract

PURPOSE:To display automatically and surely the adequateness of a caulking condition in the stage of caulking a cylindrical member to a shaft by measuring the number of revolution of the shaft by using a photoelectric switch and a light shielding plate. CONSTITUTION:A piston 7 is fitted onto a prescribed position of a rack 1, and is held in a working position by means of a headstock 3 and a center 5. The caulking device 10 is pressed to the flange 7a of the piston 7 and pinch roller 20 of a cauking detector M is pressed to the piston 7. A rack 1 is rotated by the headstock 3 and the roller 9 is fed by a cylinder 11 to deform gradually the flange 7a, thereby caulking the flange to the rack 1. The roller 20 contacts rollingly via a rubber roller 21 with the piston 7 rotating together with the rack 1 without sliding with said piston.
