PURPOSE:To enhance productivity of exhaust silencers by previously assembling the internal components of each exhaust silencer, by winding a plate forming an external cylinder round said assembly, and by fastening this plate to the end plates and partition plates as members of said internal components by means of laser welding. CONSTITUTION:Such internal components of an exhaust silencer are previously assembled into a single solid body, as end plates 1a, 1b, partition plates 2a, 2b, 2c, an inlet pipe 3a, outlet pipe 3b and inner pipes 3g, 3h, 3j. Here each pipe penetrates the burred holes provided in these end and partition plates and fastened by welding or using pressure. Thereafter an external cylinder 4 is formed around these end and partition plates by winding a plate double round the assembly, and then laser beam is irradiated to the external cylinder 4 to weld them fast.

要となる。このように本発明では消音器を製造する場合
において、作業性の改善、コストの低減および省エネル
ギに貢献づるとともに、溶接精度のすぐれた良品質の消
音器を得ることができるのである。
