Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve durability, heat stability, and glare preventivity by forming a hardened film made from a UV hardenable polyester acrylate type resin compsn. contg. aggregated silica gel on the surface of an unstretched or monoaxially stretched plastic layer. CONSTITUTION:A hardened film layer 3 made by hardening a UV hardneable polyester acrylate type compsn. contg. silica gel is formed on the surface of a plastic layer 2 of a polarizing material formed by coating the surface of a polarizing film 1 with an unstretched or monoaxially stretched plastic film 2. The obtained polarizing plate is given good scratch resistance by high hardness of the layer 3, and superior glare preventivity by the presence of the aggregated silica gel, and further, good durability and heat stability by the overcoat of the polyester acrylate type hardened resin.

Polarizing plates are generally made by forming a transparent plastic layer on the surface of a polarizing film, and their use ranges from small items such as conventional desks and watches to automobiles. With the expansion of such fields of use, there is a growing demand for high durability, thermal stability, and other properties required for 15-light plates. has been done.

On the other hand, with the increase in size, there is a demand for better scratch resistance and anti-glare properties for the polarizing plate itself. This is because if the surface of the polarizing plate is scratched during the manufacturing process or mounting of the polarizing plate, the product yield will be significantly lowered, and the appearance and optical characteristics of the display device will also be degraded.

The polarizing plate of the present invention was developed in accordance with such demands, and its gist is to form a plastic layer on the surface of a polarizing film with no stretching or stretching in only one direction. A cured film layer made of a composition containing an ultraviolet curable polyester acrylate resin and a cohesive property/recure is formed on the surface of the glasstic layer of the polarizing base material consisting of 1 to 1.

According to the polarizing plate of the present invention, a cured film layer consisting of a group 1j, V, containing cohesive silica gel in an ultraviolet curable polyester acrylate resin is formed on the glassy layer surface of the polarizing base material. It has the characteristics of excellent scratch resistance due to its large scratch resistance, and excellent anti-glare properties because it scatters light due to the cohesive property (・ζ) of lica gel.

The ultraviolet curable polyester acrylate resin used in the present invention is generally produced by reacting a polyester polyol with an acrylate or methacrylate monomer having a hydroxyl group such as 2-hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate or 2-hydroxypropyl (meth)acrylate. By using such a resin,
It has been discovered that the composition can be cured by ultraviolet light, and that a cured film layer with high surface hardness and excellent scratch resistance can be obtained.

The proportion of ultraviolet curable polyester acrylate resin and silica gel is 0.1 to 35 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of resin to improve scratch resistance and prevention. This is desirable since it also provides a dazzling effect. Silica gel is 0. Below IM, the surface hardness of the cured film layer is low and the anti-glare effect is insufficient.
If the amount is more than 5 parts by weight, it is not preferable because the optical properties are deteriorated.
