Detailed Description of the Invention The present invention involves inserting an electrode and a wire serving as a welding material diagonally downward from the periphery of a nozzle connected to the lower end, and positioning the lower end of the electrode and wire at the center of the lower end inside the nozzle. By hollowing out a torch in the shape of an inverted truncated conical cylinder, welding can be carried out from above the torch, without using a light-shielding protective surface, while directly viewing the welding process through a light-shielding plate. By doing this, you can perform accurate welding, and by performing welding work while keeping the insulator provided under the nozzle in contact with the base metal, you can maintain a constant arc length and achieve better shielding. This ensures effective and clean overlay, protects the eyes of the worker and others by preventing light from leaking to the outside as much as possible, and also monitors the welding area within the torch. This relates to welding equipment that has a built-in television camera and optical fiber that can be operated remotely.

Conventionally, in this type of welding equipment, the electrode passes through the center of the torch, so the arc generated between the electrode and the base metal cannot be seen from above the torch.
The entire torch is lifted above the base metal, and the welding process is performed while visually checking the arc from below the torch.

Therefore, in order to perform accurate welding work, skill is required, and since the arc can be seen from below the torch, there are drawbacks such as the necessity of a protective surface for shielding light. The present invention has been made to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks, and will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Light-shielding plates 3 and 4 for absorbing ultraviolet rays are installed horizontally in the upper part and on the outer periphery of the upper end of the torch 2, which has an inverted truncated conical shape with an inert gas supply hole 1 bored around the middle part. A nozzle ring 6 in the shape of an inverted truncated conical cylinder with a heat-resistant insulating ring 5 provided at the lower end is connected to the lower end of 2, and from one side of the outer periphery of the nozzle ring 6, a rod-shaped electrode 8 having a sharp point 7 at the tip is connected. is inserted obliquely downward so that the sharp end T thereof is located at the lower center of the nozzle ring 6, and then from the other side of the outer periphery of the nozzle ring 6 facing the electrode 8, as a welding material. wire 9
The wire 9 is inserted diagonally downward so that it can be fed, and the tip of the wire 9 is positioned below the sharp portion T of the tip of the electrode 8.

In the welding apparatus of the present invention having the above-described configuration, an inert gas such as argon is supplied into the torch 2 through the inert gas supply hole 1 drilled around the torch 2, and the electrode 8 is energized, The nozzle ring 2 is attached to the base material 1 together with the torch 2.
0, an arc 11 will be generated between the sharp part 7 at the tip of the electrode 8 and the base metal 10, and since the tip of the wire 9 is located below the sharp part 7, this welding material The tip of the wire 9 is melted by the arc 11 and becomes ready for welding.

Moreover, the molten boule 12 at the tip of the wire 9 can be viewed directly from above the torch 2 through the light-shielding plate 3 installed horizontally within the upper part of the torch 2, which has the shape of an inverted truncated conical cylinder, without requiring a light-shielding protective surface. Since it is possible to melt the boule 12
By moving the torch 2 while aligning the mark line 13 with the score line 13, a clean straight weld overlay 14 can be obtained and accurate welding can be performed.

Furthermore, if welding is performed while the heat-resistant insulating ring 5 provided at the bottom of the nozzle ring 6 is in contact with the base metal 10, the length of the arc 11 can be kept constant and a better shielding effect can be obtained. Not only can a beautiful overlay be made, but also there is little light leaking outside, which protects the eyes of the worker and those around him.

Furthermore, as shown in FIG.
5 and 16, the welding boule 12 directly viewed from above the torch 2 can be enlarged and more accurate welding can be performed.
If it is installed vertically, it can be used even in windy places such as outdoors.

Also, as shown in FIG. 4, if the nozzle ring 6/ connected under the torch 2 is replaced with one in which the electrode 8' and the wire 9' end protrude from the lower end, the horizontal plate 18 end and the vertical plate 19 end Welding from the inside in the case of angular welding can also be performed while directly viewing the built-up part 14' from above the torch 2', and a television camera or optical fiber may be installed inside the torch 2 to monitor the welding part. If built-in, remote control will be possible when welding in places where the welding state cannot be seen with the human eye or where humans cannot directly enter, such as underwater or in a nuclear reactor tank.
