Abstract

PURPOSE:To convert directly a coding signal of plural bits into an acoustic signal by providing plural switching elements controlling current supply to each voice coil group or speaker group in response to the coding signal of each bit. CONSTITUTION:An output sound pressure corresponding to the weight of bits as P, P/2, P/4, P/8 (where P is sound pressure) is generated even if speakers 7-10 are driven by a DC power supply 6 of the same volage in the acoustic reproducing device for a 4-bit PCM signal. A signal from a PCM signal input terminal 16 is given to switching elements 11-14 as a gate signal from a switch driver circuit 15 by a signal of an address data input terminal 17, and a current flows to the speakers 7-10 from the switch driver circuit 15 to release sound. The PCM modulating signal of music and voice or the like is quantized by constant sampling times t1-tn to obtain the PCM signal. The output sound pressure is obtained by driving the speakers 7-10 at sampling times t1-tn by the switching elements 11-14 by means of the PCM signal.
