This is a method to perform not only inspection work but also maintenance work such as repair and replacement of various equipment. A lifting device 12 attached to a small overhead crane 11 installed in a cask (airtight container) 10 that is shielded from the radioactive atmosphere has two overhead cranes 6.6a installed inside the hot cell 2. A maintenance device 13 that can run along the guide rails 8 and 8a is suspended, and this maintenance device 13 is equipped with a manipulator 14 for repairing and replacing various devices, and a television camera 15 for inspection. There is. 1 This maintenance device 13 is connected to an external monitor television 17 and a controller 18 via a cable 16, and the movement of the maintenance device 13 and the operation of the manipulator 14 and inspection television camera 15 are performed by remote control. At the bottom of C1 and cask 10,
A door 19 that can be opened and closed is provided. hot cell 2
As part of the maintenance work procedure, first, a large overhead crane 20 installed outside the hot cell 2 transports all casks 10 onto the hot cell 2, and opens and closes the cask 10.
9 is positioned so that it faces the late closing trap 9 of the hot cell 2. The overhead crane on the side to be worked on, in this embodiment the upper overhead crane 6a, is positioned in advance directly below the late-closing trap 9, and the opening/closing door 19 and the late-closing trap 9 are opened and the lifting device 12 is operated. The alignment device 13 is transferred onto the guide rail 8a of the overhead crane 6a. Subsequently, this maintenance equipment M13 is removed from the lifting device 12,
While running on this guide rail 8a, the inspection television camera 15 is used to inspect the guide rail 8a.

13 is working while moving along the guide rail 8a, the traversing device 7a at one end of the guide rail 8a may be placed on the guide rail 8a where it is in standby E-. When the work with the upper overhead crane 6a is finished, the maintenance device 13 is re-lifted (lifted by the I-elevating device 12 and the upper overhead crane 6at is blocked f4).9. The work is continued by moving it from the position directly below and transferring it to the lower overhead crane 6.

This allows for inspection of the guide rail and its surroundings as well as repair and replacement of glazed equipment while traveling on the guide rail.Until now, it has been possible to conduct inspections in the hot cell using existing monitoring equipment in the hot cell, TV cameras on manipulators, etc. Inspections and maintenance work near the overhead crane that cannot be performed with a manipulator can be performed, and reliability is achieved in terms of hot cell maintenance. Defective products that have been replaced are safe because they can be recovered and processed once they are isolated from the outside world.
