Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide function for removing wear powder to a jacket and to reduce wear of a metallic thin film medium by folding back a part of a liner to disk side so as to form a part having the removal function of wear powder. CONSTITUTION:An opening 1, a contact part 2, a bag part 3 and a back part 4 are produced by folding a part of the liner to the disk side, and the four parts form the wear powder removing section. When the disk is turned from the opening 1 to the back part 4, the large wear powder adhered to the disk 7 is blocked by the opening 1. When the wear powder is stored and the amount is increased, the powder is pushed into the bag part 3 by a force produced by the rotation of the disk. Fine powder not stopped at the opening 1 slips under the contact part 2 while being adhered to the disk 7 and is clung to fibers of the liner 6. When the disc 7 is rotated from the back part 4 to the opening 1, the wear powder is blocked at the back part 4 and removed similarly.

In recent years, metal thin film media have been attracting attention as hunting recording media used in flexible disks. This differs from conventional coated media in that the magnetic layer is a metal thin film. Therefore, not only the mechanical properties but also the mechanical properties are different. That is, the wear of the magnetic layer has a large effect on the recording/reproducing characteristics, and the wear particles play a large role in the wear phenomenon.

For coated media, the technology of mixing a lubricant with the solidifying agent has been established, and since lubrication can be easily obtained, wear particles are less likely to be generated. Takeshinsho Molecular Compound Sword), metal oxides are mainly used as magnetic materials, and these are generally soft VC. Furthermore, damage to the magnetic layer due to abrasion must accumulate considerably for the 6B layer to be thick (10 to several .mu.m) to manifest itself in a decrease in the recording/reproducing characteristics.

In some metal thin film media, the surface of the media is a metallic mirror surface, making it difficult to provide lubrication. Therefore, it is difficult to stop the generation of wear debris. ! The abrasion powder produced by this process is metal particles separated from the magnetic layer and is hard. In addition, the octogen layer is thinner (1 to a few tenths μrn) compared to the coating type medium,

However, conventional jackets for flexible disks that use coated media are not equipped with any technology to actively remove wear particles. When a thin metal film medium is used in a flexible disk, it is obvious that if it is used in a conventional jacket, the disk will wear out, break down, and become compressed in a short period of time.

Uninvented waiting is part of Raina? Folding toward the disk side VC, J: The purpose is to form a part that has a function of removing wear powder. FIG. 1 is a sectional view of a flexible disk cartridge in which the present invention is applied to the A side. By folding the liner toward the -tak disk side, an opening 1, a contact portion 2, a bag s3, and a back portion 4 are created. Are these four parts the wear powder removal part? is forming.

When the Dinuk rotates from left to right as shown in the figure, that is, from the opening '81 toward the back 4, large pieces of abrasion powder deposited on the disk 7 are stopped at the opening 1.

As wear debris accumulates and the number of particles increases, the rotation of the disc becomes l:9.
It is pushed into the bag portion 5 by the generated force. Fine abrasion powder that is not stopped at the opening 1 sneaks under the contact layer 2 of the blade 1 attached to the disk 7. The contact portion 2 is in a state where it is lightly pressed against the disk 7 by the force from the overall structure of the jacket and the pressure band, and the wear debris that has settled under the contact portion 2 is entangled with the fibers of the liner 6.

Conversely, when the disk 7 rotates from the right to the left in the figure, that is, from the back @ 4 toward the opening 1, the wear particles that are blocked by the back 4 and have penetrated into the contact area 2 are also damaged first. It is removed as described.

As described above, although the invention has a simple structure, it is effective in removing abrasion powder, completely reduces the abrasion phenomenon in metal thin film media, and facilitates its practical application. The invention can be applied not only to the 5-inch flexible disk of the embodiment, but also to all types of flexible disks such as 8-inch flexible disks and micro disks, and can be applied to double-sided recording simply by applying it to the liners on both sides.
