Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a crack at the opening part of an envelope inner body or crosstalk from occurring, by supporting the peripheral part of a cover, which joins with the opening part of a luminous envelope, with a shoulder part, and avoiding any contact with both edge parts of the cover and the envelope inner body, besides lengthening a fitting range between the inner body and the cover. CONSTITUTION:A shoulder part 18 is peripherally installed around the opening part of an envelope inner body 3, while a peripheral part 19 of a cover 15 is supported by the shoulder part 18, through which contact between an end edge part 16 of an envelope outer body 2 and the cover 15 is prevented. At suchlike construction, the cover 15 is sealed by the peripheral part of the envelope outer body 2 and a glass frit 5 and afterward, in time of being exhausted by dint of vacuum, if the cover 15 is concaved inward whereby the shoulder part 18 is compressed, there is nothing of producing any cracks. This is because the shoulder part 18 is excellent in strength against the compression stress as compared with that of the end edge part 16. On the other hand, with the suchlike shoulder part 18 installed in the opening part of the envelope inner body 3 as aforesaid, a fitting range 17 between the inner body and the cover 15 is made longer so that crosstalk is also prevented at the same time.

As shown in FIGS. 1a and 1b, for example, this fluorescent lamp has a container outer body 2 made of a translucent glass material and having a spherical or cylindrical curved outer shape. The light-emitting container 1 is constructed by inserting the container inner body 3 made of the same material into the inside of the container and overlapping each other.

Further, in the inner body 3 of the container, a groove 6 for forming a discharge path is provided in a meandering manner so as to form one continuous discharge path, and two electrodes 7. 8 are held by internal lead wires 9, 1o, and external conductors 11, 12 are further connected to the internal leads 9, 10. A part or all of the inner surface of the container outer body 2 and the outer surface of the container inner body 3 are coated with a fluorescent material 13 . Further, the inside of the luminous envelope 1 is evacuated to a vacuum through an exhaust pipe 14, and surplus mercury and rare gas are sealed inside.

Next, regarding the above-mentioned basic structure, during the subsequent manufacturing process, a problem arose in which the inner body 3 of the container was damaged by atmospheric pressure, and the inventors filed a Japanese Patent Application No. 1983-1999 to prevent this problem. 10o871, etc., proposed an improved structure. An example is shown in FIG. In the figure, a lid 15 made of a metal material is sealed with a glass foil 5 along the periphery of the opening 4 of the container outer body 2. Then, in place of the exhaust pipe 14 that was sealed to a part of the opening 4 in FIG.
The glass frit 5 is sealed to the center of the glass. Furthermore, unlike the structure shown in FIG.
The opening of the container is not hermetically sealed to the opening 4 of the container outer body 2, but is merely fixed, and is therefore surrounded by the container outer body 2 and the container inner body 3. The region 16 surrounded by the container inner body 3 and the lid 15 are in communication with each other. Then, the container outer body 2 and the lid 15 are connected through the exhaust pipe 1a.
The entire area surrounded by n is evacuated, and excess mercury and rare gases are filled in. With this structure, atmospheric pressure is not applied to the container inner body 3, so damage can be completely prevented.

As a next step, the inventors continued to study the commercialization of a con/F-contact type fluorescent lamp based on a design based on the improved structure shown in FIG. During this process, we experienced cracks in the vicinity of the opening of the container inner body 3, and crosstalk occurring in some cases. Such cracks are an absolute failure of the lamp, and are a problem that must be solved.

Structure of the Invention In order to achieve the above object, the inventors first investigated the cause of cracks and crosstalk occurring near the opening of the inner body of the container. As a result, as shown in FIG.
When the inside of the luminescent container is evacuated, the lid 15 is indented inward by atmospheric pressure, and the edge portion 16 of the inner body of the container is squeezed. It became clear that In addition, as shown in FIG. 3, crosstalk occurs between the container outer body 2 and the container inner body 3.
It has been found that because the length of the lid 15 that is fitted between the two is short, the problem occurs through the fitting area 17 shown in the shaded area. Next, the inventors conducted a detailed study on measures to prevent such cracks and crosstalk, and found that a shoulder was provided at the opening of the inner body of the container, and the distance between the fitting regions was increased to prevent crosstalk. It has been confirmed that cracks in the container inner body can be completely prevented by preventing talk and by supporting the lid with the shoulder portion of the container inner body to avoid contact between the edge portion and the lid.

FIG. 4 shows a longitudinal cross-sectional view of a main part of a fluorescent lamp which is an embodiment of the present invention. In the figure, a shoulder 18 is provided at the periphery of the opening of the inner body 3 of the container, and the periphery 19 of the lid 16 is supported by the shoulder 18. The edge portion 16 of the inner body 2 and the lid 15 are prevented from coming into contact with each other.

In this structure, the lid 15 is sealed to the periphery of the container outer body 2 with the glass frit 5, and when the container is evacuated, the lid 15 is recessed inward and the shoulder 18 is squeezed. It was also confirmed that no cracks occurred. This can be said to be because the shoulder portion 18 has greater strength against compressive stress than the edge portion 16. On the other hand, it was also confirmed that by providing such a shoulder portion 18 at the opening of the container inner body 2, the fitting region 17 with the lid 15 becomes longer and crosstalk is also prevented.

According to the inventors' study, the length of the mating area! Approximately 7 or more steps were required. In other words, the structure according to the present invention shown in FIG. 4 can be said to be a win-win solution in that it can prevent cracks and crosstalk at the same time. In addition, in FIG. 4, the lid 15
is made of a metal material of Fe6o%-Ni50%, and its center part is designed to absorb the difference in thermal expansion with the outer body 2 of the container during the sealing process and have the effect of a cushion. A recessed portion 19 is provided at. Moreover, both electrode parts are integrated in advance with a glass piece 20, and a four part 2 part 2 having holes 22 provided at two places around the periphery of the lid 15 is used.

Original effect As explained above, the invention provides a shoulder at the opening of the inner body of the container, and the peripheral part of the lid that is joined to the opening of the xA9 container is attached to the shoulder. By supporting the lid and the edge of the container inner body by avoiding contact with the edge portion of the container inner body, and by making the fitting area between the container inner body and the lid longer, the opening of the container inner body is It is a highly reliable compact type that can prevent cracks and crosstalk, and can be used as an accessory.
