In a tape cartridge, a pad 11 for pressing the tape T against the magnetic head is disposed in a magnetic head insertion window 6 provided on the front surface of the main body case 1 so that the pad 11 can be moved backward toward the inside of the case. Contact parts 13 are provided on both left and right sides of the pad mounting part 12a of the pad support 12 to be supported, and springs and spring rods 16R and 16 are provided from the left and right ends of each contact part 13.
