In general, Braille is configured to represent character information such as kana, numbers, and alphabets using a combination of braille bins arranged in two columns and three rows, or in two rows and four rows. Conventionally, these have been configured in Braille books, but recently, in combination with personal computers, etc., a Braille matrix with convex Braille bins that is variably displayed on a single display panel has been formed, and the protrusion of the Braille bins and A Braille display device has been proposed in which the descending movement is controlled by a computer and the character information changes one after another. By using a tape recorder or a floppy disk for the storage section of this device, the amount of information can be greatly increased, and it can also be made more compact, allowing it to be used in the same way as the display on a cathode ray tube of a terminal. However, in conventional devices, the driving force of the driving solenoid coil is required to be high due to the relationship between the vertical driving force of the rod having the Braille bottle part and the protrusion holding force of the Braille bottle, and therefore the size of the solenoid coil in this case is also large. When considering the ergonomically required braille bin spacing, the mechanism becomes complicated and large because the solenoid coil is driven by a lever, or the number of character information that can be expressed on the display panel is greatly limited. There were drawbacks.

In consideration of this point, the present invention aims to provide a drive mechanism for a Braille device that improves vertical driving force and protrusion holding force, and a drive method that saves current, even though the solenoid coil is miniaturized. purpose.

Next, the present invention will be explained with reference to the drawings. Regarding the drive mechanism, which is one of the aspects of the present invention, the diameter of the solenoid coil is reduced to a size that fits within the black space, and the entire
It has a unidirectional structure, and the lack of driving force and holding force of the coil is compensated for by the attraction force of the magnet or iron piece fixed to the rod.On the other hand, when rewriting the Braille display, the holding state is released by other solenoid coils and magnets. It is proposed to lower the protruding Braille bin.

As shown in FIG. 1, its structure is divided into an upper drive section and a lower drive section, with the upper part serving as a drive part for ejecting the Braille bottle, and the lower part serving as a drive part for lowering the Braille bottle. Now, the upper drive section is display panel 1
A rod 4 having one end protruding from above as a Braille bottle 2 and the other end formed of a magnetic material 3 is movably arranged in a first driving solenoid coil 5, and a rod protrusion holding means is provided by the attraction action of a magnet. Specifically, as an example, as shown in the drawing, a magnet 6 for holding the rod protrusion is fixed to the rod 4 and placed between the magnet holder 7 and the spacer. A structure has been proposed in which a rod is movably arranged between fixed magnets, and stoppers made of magnetic material are fixed to the rods at predetermined intervals. On the other hand, the lower drive section has a magnet 8 large enough to attract a pair of rod ends at one end, and a rod 11 with a ring 10 into which a return spring 9 is inserted at the other end, and a second drive solenoid. It is movably arranged in coil I2. The structure described above operates as shown in FIG. 2. When a current is turned on to the first driving solenoid coil 5 of each braille bin 2 corresponding to a character pattern for displaying arbitrary characters, the rod 4 is pulled up by the suction force, but when it is pulled up to a certain extent, the suction force between the magnet holder 7 and the magnet 6 becomes stronger, and the upward driving force increases. When the magnet holder 7 and the magnet 6 come into close contact with each other, the current is turned off, and the rod 4 is held as the Braille bottle 2 with its upper part protruding above the display panel 1 (FIG. 2(a)). Next, when rewriting the Braille display, lower all the rods 4, turn on the current to the predetermined first drive solenoid coil 5 for any character information, and then raise the rod 4 to display the display panel 1. displayed as Braille. The mechanism for lowering the rod 4 is shown in the lower drive part in FIG.
As a result, the magnet 8 disposed above the rod 11 rises together with the mouth/throat 11 and attracts the rod end 3 (FIG. 2 (b)). At this point, when the current is set to CUFF, the magnet 8 is pulled back by the return spring 9, and at the same time the rod 4 is also lowered, so that the Braille bottle 2 on the display panel 1 is retracted (FIG. 2 (c)). Then, the upper drive section of this device performs a new Braille bin display operation, and the rewriting operation is completed. The above operations are performed by turning on and off the current to the first and second solenoid coils using a microcomputer.
It can be done very rationally to control. In these mechanisms, the holding force of the Braille bottle can be adjusted by selecting the volume of the magnet, the contact surface area, and the thickness of the magnet holder. Next, regarding the driving method which is another one of the present invention, by supplying driving pulses to each driving solenoid coil with staggered driving timing, the rod whose end is a Braille bottle is lowered and raised. This is what we propose. The method is performed by first erasing all previously displayed Braille character patterns, and then supplying a drive pulse to the second drive solenoid coil 12 of the lower drive section to lower all the Braille bins. Next, driving pulses are supplied to each first driving solenoid coil of the Braille bin corresponding to an arbitrary character at different driving timings, thereby completing the formation of a Braille character pattern. However, in the subsequent display state, the text information formed in the Braille bottle is read by the tactile sensation of the fingers, so if the pressing force of the finger is large, the Braille bottle may be partially pushed in and the text information may be unclear. It may happen,
In such a situation, by intermittently supplying drive pulses to the first drive solenoid coil of the Braille bin corresponding to the character pattern with staggered drive timings as described above, the corresponding Braille can be displayed. It is possible to restore the bottle.

As described above, the present invention is characterized by using a magnet in combination with a drive system using a solenoid coil, and having a structure for vertically driving and holding the rond, and supplying drive pulses to the drive solenoid coil with shifted timing. By reducing the diameter of the solenoid coil, the braille capacity is increased, and by using the adsorption action of a magnet, the driving force of the solenoid coil can be reduced to one-fifth, contributing to current savings and heat generation prevention. Also, since the drive solenoid is not driven at the same time, it contributes to reducing the current capacity.
It is possible to realize diversification of displays as well as miniaturization of the device.
