Abstract

PURPOSE:The titled foundation having hardness of nerve, elasticity, improved holding power of needle, and improved elastic recovery in application of carding action to needle, having a high-density elastic layer as a middle layer and an elastic layer uniformly impregnated with synthetic rubber on the upper part. CONSTITUTION:A foundation for card clothing has the elastic needle mat 6 having 0.25-0.40g/cm<3> apparent density, obtained by processing needle felt with fiber binding emulsion of rubber or synthetic resin, as the highest layer, and the high-density needle mat 7 having 0.40-0.60g/cm<3> apparent density, obtained by heat-treating needle felt mat containing >=30wt% heat-shrinkable fiber to shrink at relatively temperature, as a middle layer. These mats 6 and 7 are laminated successively to the base material layer 11 which is prepared by laminating three sheets of the cotton cloth 8, the flax cloth 9, and the cotton cloth 10 with natural rubber gum, and these layers are bonded with the synthetic rubber adhesive 4 to give the foundation 12 for card clothing.

Conventionally, as shown in Figure 1, the base fabric for clothing is made by using a plurality of woven fabrics such as cotton, linen, or synthetic fibers, which are laminated and bonded using natural rubber adhesive 2, and then formed into a predetermined number and thickness. After that, a sheet-like material 3 of rubber, felt, or resin is laminated on the top layer and bonded with a synthetic rubber adhesive 4, thereby manufacturing. This base fabric is then seeded with seeding wire and wrapped around the cylinder or dowel of a carding machine as clothing to be used for opening and aligning the lumpy fibers. Since the clothing is thus wound around a cylinder or the like that rotates at high speed and has the effect of loosening the fibers, it is required to have considerable strength and a strong ability to hold the planted needles. Therefore, the base fabric must be particularly uniform in thickness, have excellent tensile strength, and must be able to stretch as little as possible under tension so that it can be tightly wrapped around a rotating cylindrical body such as a cylinder. Sufficient needle gripping or holding force is required to withstand the loads placed on the needle, as well as resiliency to help the needle recover from deformation. In order to satisfy these characteristics, rubber m, which is made by dissolving natural rubber or synthetic rubber in gasoline and an organic solvent such as benzene, is usually applied several times to a woven fabric such as linen or cotton fabric that has high tensile strength and low elongation. The rubber glue is applied and permeated into the woven fabric to form a rubber glue layer of a constant thickness, which maintains the elasticity of the base fabric and increases the gripping force of the implanted needles. In addition, in the surface layer, a rubber sheet layer, a rubber foam layer, a resin sheet layer, a resin foam layer, and a felt layer are provided in order to completely buffer the stress applied to the implanted needle. In addition, when the felt layer is the top layer, a solution of synthetic resin 5 is further coated on the top surface to form a layer to suppress fuzz on the top surface of the sea felt. Various efforts have been made to eliminate entanglement with the fibers being carded and to prevent internal penetration of oils adhering to the fibers before spinning. However, in order to satisfy the various required physical properties, the conventional base fabrics described above use expensive downy felt1 and go through numerous coating and laminating processes, which makes them quite expensive and also requires the use of felt. The synthetic resin layer coated on the upper layer peels off as it ages, and the felt layer is exposed to the surface and becomes fluffy, making it easy to get entangled with the fibers being carded and making it difficult to remove the fibers that have sunk into the needles of the clothing. Furthermore, it is difficult for oils such as wool oil to penetrate into the surface of the felt layer, and when that oil reaches the adhesive layer, the adhesive dissolves and the layer peels off from the laminated surface of the base fabric. There are various disadvantages such as easy to cause.

1 Neoprene, acrylic polyester, polyurethane latex or emulsion is used. In addition, if the apparent density is less than 0.25P/(d, the gaps between the fibers will be large and the penetration of the oil will also be large, so it is not preferable.
If it exceeds 14y/cII, it will affect the elasticity,
Even if the needle is subjected to stress, the restoring force is poor and the needle may be damaged.

Since the present invention has the above configuration, the base fabric for clothing has a high-density elastic layer in the middle layer and an elastic layer uniformly impregnated with synthetic rubber in the upper layer, so it has firm hardness and elasticity. The gripping force of the needle is also good, and the elastic recovery when the carding axis is applied to the needle is excellent, especially on the top layer.
A needle mat made of chemical fibers with excellent oil resistance and durability is impregnated and coated with an elastic and chemical resistant fiber binder and then heated and hardened, resulting in excellent oil resistance and good abrasion fastness. Therefore, it has excellent effects such as less surface fuzzing even after long-term use and greatly improving the durability of the clothing.
