Claims

In a piezoelectric resonator that utilizes bending vibration in the thickness direction, the piezoelectric resonator has a terminal plate that has at least two contact points on each side of a square, disk, or rectangular piezoelectric element to sandwich the piezoelectric element. A holding structure for a piezoelectric element, in which the dimension of a contact portion between the element and a terminal plate is made small to the extent that it does not affect the vibration characteristics of the piezoelectric element.
