One end of the alternator body is inserted between a pair of parallel support brackets fixed to the engine body, and the one end of the alternator body is rotatable by a bolt extending through the support bracket and the alternator body. In an alternator mounting structure in which the other end of the alternator body is supported by a mounting position adjustment bracket fixed to the engine body, a reinforcing plate bridging the pair of support brackets is attached to one end of the alternator body. A mounting structure for an alternator for an internal combustion engine, in which the reinforcing plate is closely disposed on a peripheral wall surface of the alternator, the central part of the reinforcing plate is fixed to the alternator main body, and both ends of the reinforcing plate are fixed to the support bracket.
