チャンネル信号により変調されたサブキャリヤが重畳さ
れて多重記録されると共に、この多重記録モードの種別
に応じて前記サブキャリヤレベルが制御されて記録され
た記録媒体を再生可能に構成されてなる再生装置におけ
る多重情報の記録モード判別装置であって、前記サブキ
ャリヤレベルに応じた信号を発生する信号発生手段と、
再生情報のドロップアウト現象を検出してドロップアウ
ト検出信号を発生する手段と、前記ドロップアウト検出
信号の発生期間この検出信号発生直前の前記信号発生手
段の出力をホールドするホール［パ手段とを有し、前記
期間は前記ホールド手段の出力を、残余の期間は前記信
号発生手段の出力を夫々用いて前記多重記録モードの種
