Claims

[Claims for Utility Model Registration] (1) In a tape cassette that is installed and used in a recording/playback device, an information providing portion that provides information to the reading means on the recording/playback device is provided at the beginning and end of the tape. A tape cassette having a structure provided on at least one side of the tape cassette. (2) The tape cassette according to claim 1, wherein the information providing section is configured to include a portion with high light transmittance and a portion with low light transmittance. (2) The tape cassette according to claim 1, wherein the information providing section is comprised of a magnetic layer and a non-magnetic layer. (4) The tape cassette according to claim 1, wherein the information providing portion is formed on the adhesive coated layer side of a splicing tape that connects the magnetic tape and the leader tape or trailer tape.
