Claims

A directional switching valve is provided between the variable displacement pump and the actuator and can be selectively switched to four positions including a float position by pilot pressure from a pilot valve. The pilot pressure passage and the pilot pressure passage dedicated to the actuator position, which is used only when switching the directional control valve to one of the two actuator positions excluding the float position and the neutral position, are connected to the variable displacement pump via the shuttle valve. In a device that minimizes the discharge flow rate of a variable displacement pump when connected to a flow rate control mechanism and the directional valve assumes a neutral position, a shuttle valve is connected to a pilot pressure passage for setting the directional valve to a float position. A hydraulic drive control device characterized in that an on-off valve is interposed in the passage, and the on-off valve slightly cuts off the passage when the directional control valve assumes a float position, and allows the passage to communicate at other times. .
