Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the height of a wide liquid surface with high responsiveness by detecting electric current flowing into plural electrodes arranged at different levels from the liquid surface. CONSTITUTION:Between the lowermost level electrode 2 out of electrodes 2-7 with different levels from the liquid surface and other electrodes 3-7, a DC power supply 1 and light emitting diodes 12-16 are connected in parallel. Conductive liquid 19 is injected from an inlet 10 to a container 8 and is discharged from an outlet 11. In accordance with the contact of the surface of the liquid 9 with the lower ends of the electrodes 3-7, the light emitting diodes 12-16 are successively emitted, so that the height of a wide liquid surface is detected with high responsiveness.

Conventionally, the mechanism for detecting the height of the liquid level has been a microswitch, etc., in which a float is floated on the liquid level, the float moves up and down depending on the height of the liquid level, and the tip of the float is attached to a predetermined position. There is a mechanism that detects the height of the liquid level by opening and closing.

The disadvantages of the above mechanism include the following. First, it can only be determined whether the liquid level has exceeded a certain predetermined height or has fallen below it. Therefore, in applications where the height of the liquid level must be detected at multiple points, as many floats, microswitches, etc. as the required number of detection points are required. This cannot necessarily be said to be economical. Furthermore, since it has a mechanical structure, it cannot necessarily be said that the response speed is fast.

An object of the present invention is to improve the above-mentioned drawbacks and to provide a liquid level detection mechanism that is inexpensive, has good responsiveness, and can be applied in a wide range of applications. In other words, a device for detecting the height of a conductive liquid has a structure in which it has a plurality of electrodes whose heights are changed relative to the liquid level, and when the electrodes come into contact with the liquid surface, a current flows.1. This current is used to detect the height of the liquid level.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail based on embodiments. 1st
The figure is a schematic diagram of an embodiment according to the present invention. Among the electrodes 2 to 7 having different heights relative to the liquid level, a DC power source 1 and light emitting diodes 12 to 16 are connected between the electrode 2 whose tip is at the lowest position and the other electrodes, as shown in FIG. They are electrically connected in parallel. In FIG. 1, since there is a conductive liquid 9 between electrodes 2 and 5 and between electrodes 2 and 4, the light emitting diodes 12 and 13 emit light. However, the light emitting diode 141
416 does not emit light because the liquid 9 is not included. Therefore, liquid 9
It can be determined that the height of the liquid level is between the heights of the liquid level with respect to the tips of the electrodes 4 and 5, respectively. In this way, when the liquid 9 is injected or discharged through the inlet 10 or the outlet 11, the height of the liquid level can be determined based on which light emitting diode is emitting light or not. Furthermore, by measuring the time interval at which the light emitting diodes sequentially emit light or the time interval at which they cease emitting light, it is possible to know the amount of change in the liquid level with respect to time of the liquid being injected or discharged.

Further, although a light emitting diode is used in this embodiment, it is clear that the present invention can be implemented by using a relay or the like instead, or by using an AC power source instead of a DC power source. Furthermore, it is clear that the method can be implemented regardless of the shape of the electrodes, as long as the height of the lowest end of each electrode that detects the height of the liquid level is different. As described above, by using the liquid level height detecting device according to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a liquid level detecting device that is inexpensive, has good responsiveness, and can be applied in a wide range of applications.
