When vinyl chloride sol (hereinafter referred to as "vinyl chloride sol") is used as a resin for surface reinforcement of wood veneers, it is desirable to apply heat to efficiently cure it until sufficient surface performance is obtained. However, when wood veneer is heated strongly, its moisture content drops significantly, causing problems such as noticeable warping, curling, and chipping. For example, when PVC sol is applied to a wooden veneer and cured by applying heat using a dryer, hot roll, press, etc., the heat causes water in the veneer to boil and evaporate, which then diffuses into the PVC sol. It may cause whitening or cause swelling or bubbles. In addition, since moisture evaporates, the veneer tends to crack or chip, making it extremely difficult to handle during subsequent secondary processing steps and storage.

したがって、この発明の目的は、木材の反り。Therefore, the purpose of this invention is to prevent warping of wood.

Press the surface of the veneer coated with PVC sol with a pressure of This heating hardens the vinyl chloride sol. At this time, heat is also applied to the veneer at the same time, so in conventional veneers that only contain water, the water evaporates and causes cracks such as 91 cracks. However, in this example, the veneer is impregnated with a high boiling point liquid such as ethylene glycol or deoctitol instead of water, and this liquid is l! Since the water does not boil at the ir hardening temperature, there is no risk of cracking, warping, or whitening of the veneer.

As described above, the method for hardening the surface of wood according to the present invention involves impregnation treatment with a liquid having a high boiling point and good compatibility with water and vinyl chloride in place of moisture in the wood, and then coating with vinyl chloride resin and phosphorization. Because it is cured at high heat, the hardness of vinyl chloride resin is sufficiently increased, and the wood is prevented from drying out and cracking during curing.
