Claims

In a tape recorder that plays back using headphones and is equipped with a recording function, detects the level of an external audio signal from a microphone, and when the level exceeds a set value, changes the tape drive motor from a drive state to a stop state while in a playback state, and a first means for controlling from a stopped state to a driven state in a recording state;
a second means for controlling a talk line for introducing an external audio signal from the microphone into the headphones into a connected state or a disconnected state in response to the first means; and a link between the first and second means. A tape recorder characterized in that it is equipped with a sensitivity changeover switch that is inserted and used for both talk line sensitivity changeover and automatic recording sensitivity changeover.
