A heater core that heats air is provided in the heater unit, and a mix donor that controls the amount of air flowing to the heater core and the amount of air that bypasses the heater core, and an air distribution chamber formed on the lee side of the heater unit. In an automotive air conditioner in which a vent duct inlet is provided on one side wall perpendicular to the ventilation direction, a rectifier plate is installed on the side wall of the air distribution chamber directly opposite to the vent duct inlet to direct the air to the vent duct inlet. An air conditioner for an automobile, characterized in that the air conditioner is provided substantially aligned with the upper edge and protruding substantially at right angles to the side wall.
