Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit a multi-colored fine printing by a method in which printing heads to perform different colors of dot printing are plurally provided and the overlap of dots to be printed by each head is avoided. CONSTITUTION:Plural wire dot heads 34a, 34b and 34c and plural ink ribbons 33a, 33b and 33c of different colors are mounted on a carriage 26, each of which can be independently controlled. A plunger 39 whose working shaft is fixed to the wire dot head 34a is fixed to the upside of the carriage 26 and the wire dot head 34a is shifted by a given amount toward the direction of A by means of a spring when supplying electricity. In the same way, the wire head 34c is also shifted by a given amount toward the direction of B when applying electricity to the plunger 40. Thus, the overlap of dots struck by each head can be avoided.
