Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an ink jet recorder of multi-electric field on-demand type having its control electrodes in the internal wall of its ink jet nozzle which is stable in atomization of ink and easy to manufacture by such an arrangement wherein said jet nozzle is composed of an insulation body made of photosensitive glass. CONSTITUTION:Rectangular grooves are formed in an insulation body 12 made of photosensitive glass by utilizing etching and control electrodes 14 are formed in these grooves and then multiple ink nozzles 13 are formed by fixing an insulating plate 11 to the upper surface of the insulation body. The control electrode 14 is caused to protrude in the direction of a recording paper 20 and an accelerating electrode 40 is provided between a head 10 and the recording paper 20 and at the same time it is arranged so that the distance between the head 10 and the recording paper 20 can be made larger by providing a bias electrode 30 at the back of the recording paper 20. Since the top end of the control electrode 14 is independent from each other, the ink nozzle is capable of generating stable particles of ink as compared with a conventional slit-like nozzle.

Inkjet recording devices that use electric fields to fly ink have already been proposed; for example,
The inkjet recording device described in Publication No. 874 uses a nozzle and applies an electric field to the tip of the nozzle, so the electric field is highly concentrated and efficient, but on the other hand, it is difficult to multiply. It is difficult and also
The inkjet recording device described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 6-170 or Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 56-42664 has a single slit for ejecting ink, and a large number of control electrodes are arranged within the slit. This makes multiplication easier without the use of nozzles, but on the other hand, it is difficult to concentrate the electric field, resulting in low efficiency. However, there were drawbacks such as unstable particle formation of the flying ink.

FIG. 3 is a diagram for explaining the operating principle of the present invention. In the figure, 11 and 12 are insulators, 13 is an ink jet port, 14 is a control electrode, and 1 is a recording paper, and 14 is a control electrode. is a bias electrode, and the control electrodes 14 are configured to protrude toward the recording paper nozzle as shown in the figure, and the bias voltage prevents ink droplets from ejecting into the ink at the tip of each control electrode 14. A certain electric field is applied so that when a pulse is applied to the control electrode 14, an ink droplet 15 is ejected. Note that the size of the ink droplet 15 can be changed by changing the pulse width or imaging width of one pulse signal.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, the ink droplet formation points, that is, the tips of the control electrodes are independent from each other, so that the conventional ink droplet formation points are in fluid communication with each other, that is, ink jetting. It is possible to obtain more stable particles than with a slit-shaped opening, and since the ink jetting port is made of photosensitive glass, which is easy to process, it is easy to create a highly accurate ink jetting port. can be formed into
