Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a large number of inexpensive, matricial electrostatic recording heads having a high quality by a method in which plural conductors covered with an insulator are spirally arranged and a multistylus electrode is made up by exposing part of only the conductors in contact with a recorder. CONSTITUTION:Each conductor 30 constituting a conductor group 10 is provided with an electrically insulating resin film 20 in such a way as to connect the conductor groups 10 with the film 20. The conductor group 10 is wound up spirally to make up a spiral group 60, and the spiral group 60 is closely wound so that the end in the longitudinal direction of the conductor group 10 is contacted to make up the electrode pitch of a recording head. The electrically insulating film of the spiral group 60 in contact with the recording medium 40 is peeled off in a straight line to expose the conductor 30 in order to make up a multistylus electrode 50. thus, a matricial multi-needle electrode for desired electrostatic recording heads can be made up without complicated manufacturing process.

Conventionally, in electrostatic recording heads using the multi-stylus solid-state scanning method, in order to reduce the number of elements in the image distribution circuit, matrixing has been carried out inside the head. High-quality images could not be obtained because there was no multi-needle electrode structure for the electrorecording head, and especially because there was no optimal structure for forming the matrix.

The structure of the multi-needle electrode, which is the recording electrode, is as shown in Fig. 4, in which a predetermined number of needle-like electrode materials 1 such as copper wires, nickel wires, stainless steel wires, etc. coated with insulation are regularly fixed and aligned in parallel. However, it is separated by a part 2 for actually performing electrostatic recording and a part 3 for grouping to form a matrix bond. In the portion 5, the array group of the needle electrode wire 1 is divided into one block,
Each block is made of arithmetic electrode wires. A specific needle electrode wire 1 is selected for each block,
It is electrically connected to a predetermined connection terminal 4. However, in such a recording electrode structure, it is necessary to arrange a large number of recording electrodes in a regular manner, and to arrange them five-dimensionally so that the positional relationship between the auxiliary electrode and the individual elements of the recording electrode is maintained accurately. Furthermore, since complicated connections are required to assemble the multi-needle electrodes into a matrix, manufacturing is difficult and electrode manufacturing costs are high.

The above-mentioned object of the present invention is to record data on a recording medium by arranging a plurality of needle electrodes as part of the needle electrodes and auxiliary electrodes facing the needle electrodes and corresponding to each group of the needle electrodes on the same plane. In an electrostatic recording head configured so as to cause the needle to move, a part of a plurality of needle electrodes is composed of a plurality of conductor groups arranged on a plane - and each of the conductors is covered with an insulator. The conductor group is arranged in a spiral, and the insulator of the conductor is partially peeled off only in the part of the conductor group that contacts the recording medium to expose a part of the conductor to form a multi-needle electrode. This is achieved by the multi-needle electrode structure of the electrostatic recording head, which is characterized by the following characteristics:

First of all, FIG. 5 is a diagram showing a group of conductors 10 arranged in one plane, and each conductor 50 constituting this group of conductors 10 is coated with an electrically insulating resin coating 20. Coating 2
0, the conductor group 10 is connected. This conductor 0 is made of the recording head material, and usually copper wire, nickel wire, stainless steel wire, etc. are used. A predetermined diameter of the conductor 30 is selected depending on the density of the multi-needle electrode.

Further, the thickness of the electrically insulating coating 20 is selected depending on the thickness that constitutes the electrode pitch of the recording head. The number of conductors in the conductor group is the same as the number of electrode matrices shown in Figure 81, that is, the total number of 13z and Bs. The conductor group 10 generally has a structure known as a flat cable or a flexible printed board.

Next, the conductor group 10 shown in FIG. 5 is wound spirally as shown in FIG. 6 to form a spiral group 60. The helical group 60 is tightly wound in a spiral manner so that the end surfaces of the conductor group 10 in the longitudinal direction are in contact with each other, so as to constitute the electrode pitch of the recording head. However, the electrically insulating coating of the spiral group 60 in contact with the recording body 40 is peeled off in a partial linear manner to expose the conductor I,
A multi-needle electrode 50 is configured. This corresponds to part C in Figure #11. By adopting such a structure, the required multi-needle electrode of the electrostatic recording head can be constructed without going through a complicated manufacturing process for the matrix as shown in FIG.
