Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the efficiency of a fan and to lower the noises produced by the same, by providing a plurality of annular bars disposed concentrically with each other and arcuate radial bars connecting the annular bars to each other, and thereby regulating the currents of air and reducing the air-flow loss. CONSTITUTION:A grille 7 fitted to the suction opening of a fan includes a plurality of annular bars 8 disposed concentrically with each other and arcuate radial bars 9 connecting the annular bars 8 to each other. The radial bars 9 are curved in the direction of rotation of a fan 5 (shown by an arrow A in the drawing) so as to convert the air flow forcibly into a current swirling in the direction of rotation of the fan 5 and to pass the air flow through the fan 5 generally in the form of a laminar flow. Thus, generation of turbulences can be prevented. Further merit of shaping the radial bars 9 in an arcuate form is that the bars 9 are prevented from intersecting the end faces of the blades of the fan 5 at a time over the entire length thereof, so that production of noises can be minimized by reducing the whistling sounds.

羽根端面と縦桟9とが交差する際に羽根端面全長が一度
に縦桟9と交差することをなくし、両者が交差する際に
発生する風切り音を少なくして騒音低減を図っているの
である。更に、吸込口1の外周部に配設した横桟8の巾
(第1図中a寸法)を中心部に配設した横桟8の巾(第
1図中す寸法)に比べ小さくしている。これは、第1図
の矢印で示す如く吸込口1の中心部から吸込まれる風は
横桟8と平行に吸込まれるが、外周部に至るにつれて横
桟8に対して斜め方向から吸込まれ、、このため外周部
の横桟8の巾が大であると桟が風の流れを妨げる作用を
するからである。
