Abstract

PURPOSE:A master batch excellent in long-term storage stability and useful in the coloration and molding of polyolefin films or monofilaments, prepared by using a pigment, a carrier resin and an organopolysiloxane as an additive. CONSTITUTION:In a master batch for coloring a polyolefin resin, comprising a pigment (e.g., carbon black, TiO2), a carrier resin (a resin for improving shapability of a produced master batch and blendability with a material to be colored, being the polyolefin resin as the material to be colored, e.g., low-density, mediun- density or high-density polyethylene) and an additive; said additive comprises an organopolysiloxane (e.g., methylhydrogenpolysiloxane). Even when the master batch thus-produced is left standing for a long time (e.g. two weeks or longer) at a high-humidity (e.g., humidity 70-80%) place, no deposition of die slug or gum is observed around the lip part of a T-die.

Conventionally, as a method for manufacturing colored films and tapes by blending pigments into polyolefin resin and extrusion molding, film formation is carried out using a pigment concentrate called a masterbatch during flesh-colored molding of polyolefin resin. The inflation method and the T-Guy method are generally used as the polyolefin farming method, but each method has advantages and disadvantages, and one method is used depending on the purpose of the film, productivity, and economic efficiency. The OT-Guy method, which is used for laminating paper, cloth, cloth, etc. with the above-mentioned 'r-die method, and also for manufacturing agricultural mulching films, is the first method.
As shown in the figure, this is a method in which an IIN-Glue 2 is attached to an extruder 1, and a film 3 is extruded through this 'r-die 2.It has higher productivity and better transparency and gloss than the inflation method. It is easy to adjust the thickness of the film.In addition, in Fig. 1, 4 is a roll.
In order to bring out its characteristics, high temperature processing (generally 200 to 32
0° C.), problems often occur during the coloring process of the film. Especially suitable for coloring agricultural mulching film black using carbon black and paper laminate film white using titanium dioxide.
L, as shown in Figure 82, a deposit 6 called die scum or dirt accumulates on the lip 5 of the T-die 2 during the extrusion process, and if a large amount accumulates, this is the cause. Poor appearance of film 3 (streaks or holes occur)
As a result, labor costs are forced to increase, and work efficiency decreases. This phenomenon occurs significantly when the masterbatch is stored in a humid place for a long time.
In order to prevent this phenomenon, attempts have been made to add lubricants, such as metal soap or wax, to the master nozzle, but satisfactory results have not been obtained.

In view of the above circumstances, the present inventor has conducted extensive research and found that by using a "masterbatch" treated with heat-curing or catalyst-curing polysiloxane when coloring polyolefin, it can be applied even in high-humidity locations. The present invention was completed based on the discovery that the adhesion of die casts or dirt is reduced even after long-term storage.

The carrier resin used in the present invention improves the shapeability of the obtained masterbatch and the crosstalk property with the material to be colored, and is the same polyolefin resin as the material to be colored. This carrier resin contains about 20 to 300 parts by weight of pigment.
The organopolysiloxanes used as additives in the coloring masterbatch of 0 R11 used in the proportion of parts by weight are chain-like and flexible compounds having siloxane bonds in the molecule. , epoxy-modified organopolysiloxane, etc. The amount of the organopolysiloxane blended is 0.2 to 5 parts by weight based on the national weight of the acid layer. However, it is effective to add it when kneading the pigment and carrier resin.

Furthermore, if necessary, an antistatic agent, an ultraviolet absorber, an antioxidant, etc. may be added to the masterbatch.
The present invention will be further illustrated by Examples below, in which die scum or smearing does not occur on the lip portion of the T-die even when left in a high humidity place of 80% for two weeks or more, and it has excellent long-term storage stability. The parts in Examples and Comparative Examples are based on parts by weight.Example 1 Low-density polyethylene (trade name: Tubachik LF261 Mitsubishi Chemical Product) 69.91 parts Carbon black
30.00 parts Methyl hydrodiene polysiloxane (trade name: Silicone KF 99 Shin-Etsu Silicone Product) 0.09 parts The above composition was put into a Banbury mixer, and the mixture was heated to 140-170 parts.
This mixture is then kneaded for 10 minutes at a temperature of °C.
After being mixed on a mixing roll at 100 to 120°C for 10 minutes, it is drawn out into a sheet, and this is made into 3 x 3 square pellets using a square pelletizer. This square pellet was further subjected to a vented extruder at 90% G and set at a temperature of 130.
It was extruded at -180 C to obtain a black masterbatch in the form of a pellet.

Continuous extrusion molding with a T-guid width of 1500mm
As a result of investigating the state of buildup on the sticky part, no buildup was observed even after 96 hours of continuous operation.0 Examples 2 to 6, Comparative Examples 1 to 3 Same as Example 1 with the composition shown in Table 1. Each colored masterbatch was produced by the method described in the following, and after leaving this colored masterbatch in a warehouse with a humidity of 70 to 80% for 14 days, an inspection for the occurrence of dirt was carried out using the same T-die extrusion molding machine as in Example 1. The results were as shown in Table 1. The coloring masterbatch containing Naori-Bon Black was left in a humid atmosphere for several days before extrusion molding of polyolefin resin using the masterpatch immediately after production. Since the appearance of dirt is more pronounced in the case of raw materials, the colored masterbatch was left in a warehouse with a temperature of 70 to 80% for 14 days, and then the occurrence of dirt was investigated.

From Table I, in Examples 2 to 6 using the masterbatch according to the present invention, no buildup was observed even after 96 hours of continuous operation, but in Comparative Examples not using organopolysiloxane, after 3 to 4 hours. As mentioned above, the masterbatch according to the present invention does not generate die casts or dirt even when stored in a humid place for a long time, and can be stored for a long time. It has excellent stability,
This is a practically extremely useful polyolefin resin skin color masterbatch.
