Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the number of the light emitting diodes, to decrease the number of driving circuits, and to improve a yield rate by moving a head, wherein the light emitting diodes are mounted at an equal interval with the distance of integer number of times of a dot pitch to right and left, and forming one dot line. CONSTITUTION:The light emitting diodes 1-7 are mounted in the head 2 at an equal interval with the distance of integer number of times of a dot pitch. Converging rod lenses 8-14 are provided in front of the light emitting diodes. Said head 2 is moved right and left at a constant frequency. During the movement from left to right and right to left, each light emitting diode is lighted a plurality of times in response to dot data, and a recording image 4 in lateral one line is sensitized on a light esnsitive drum 6. At this time the lights sensitive drum is stopped. But it is rotated by one dot interval when the direction of the head 2 is changed from left to right or vice versa.

In conventional light emitting diode printers, light emitting diodes are arranged horizontally at dot intervals, and each horizontal dot line is exposed by emitting light from the light emitting diodes corresponding to dot information at a time. In order to arrange the light emitting diodes at the dot-to-dot pitch, it is necessary to create a diode array in which the light-emitting diodes are arranged at the dot-to-dot pitch on one chip. However, when attempting to produce monolithic or rectangular light emitting diode arrays in which a large number of light emitting diodes are fabricated on one semiconductor substrate, the yield rate becomes extremely low when trying to suppress the variation in light emission intensity within a certain range. There was. Also, the ninth step is to arrange light emitting diodes at dot intervals.
As the number of required light emitting diodes increases, the number of driving circuits for the light emitting diodes increases accordingly. However, the current capacity of the drive power source increases, resulting in an increase in cost.

In the present invention, a head mounted with a light emitting diode is swung from side to side, stopped while the light emitting diode emits light and exposes the photosensitive drum, and emits light while the head moves from left to right or right to left. After the diodes are emitted multiple times to expose a single dot line, the number of light emitting diodes is reduced by rotating the photosensitive drum, thereby producing one chip of light emitting diodes from a monolithic or rectangular light emitting diode array. This makes it possible to construct a head using nine light-emitting diode printers, and reduces the number of drive circuits.

The displacement and time of F and D are shown in the open ttIXs diagram. The light emitting diodes are mounted at intervals of 2b. 2b is equally divided by the pitch between dots, and the p dots are exposed by emitting light from a light emitting diode at a time corresponding to each dot determined from FIG. During this time, the photosensitive drum is stopped. Rotate the photosensitive drum from left to right. However, if the swing frequency of the head is high, the photosensitive drum is further rotated at one dot intervals during an integral multiple of the time for one-way reciprocation of the head. Then, while the head moves from left to right or right to left, each light emitting diode switches to the third light emitting diode corresponding to the dot information.
By emitting light at the timing shown in the figure, a horizontal row of dots is exposed. By repeating this process, characters or figures are exposed as shown in Figure 4.

As described above, the present invention is capable of mounting a large number of light emitting diodes on one chip by mounting the light emitting diodes at regular intervals at distances that are integral multiples of the dot pitch and by configuring the head to swing from side to side. Individual mounting allows the head to be configured, and has the effect of reducing the number of driving circuits for the light emitting diodes and the capacity of the driving power source.
