Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to produce desired color display by such an arrangement wherein inks of three basic colors, each has two kinds, i.e. dark and light, are used and image elements are composed by arranging the recorded positions of those basic colors and mixed colors, each composed of 2 kinds of ink, on the surface of a recording paper in the form of matrix. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet recording method wherein ink particles are generated by adding vibration of a piezoelectric vibrator 2 to an ink flow spouted from a nozzle 1 and they are charged by a charging electrode 4 and then caused to deflect by deflection electrodes 5, 6 and they form an image on a recording paper 8, 7 kinds of ink nozzle for dark and light cyane, dark and light magenta, dark and light yellow and black, are used and ink dots are obtained by those colors and mixed colors, each composed of 2 kinds of ink, and 1 image element is composed of a matrix of kXl of these color dots, and by this method many number of color can be represented by small number of colors. For instance, when a matrix of 1X2 is used, the intermediate color of cyane and magenta can be represented by 3 times more than that of 1 dot 1 image element system.

This type of inkjet recording device is mainly used for monochromatic printing, and one way to express monochrome printing is to modulate the size of the generated ink particles with an image signal. There are methods to change the size of the print diameter, methods to form ink particles into a mist and modulate the writing quality with image signals, and methods to change the number of dots of ink particles recorded between scanning line pitches. Alternatively, there is a method of changing the apparent thickness of the upper recording scanning line. However, it is difficult to apply these methods directly as a color image expression method using color ink, and even if they are applied, the four devices are complicated, difficult to control, and the stability is poor. Furthermore, if the number of nozzles that eject ink is equal to the number of color inks required for a single IsK, a large number of K inks and nozzles are required to reproduce natural color tones.

The device becomes complicated and large, and there is also the problem of reduced maintainability due to nozzle clogging.

In the dispensing field of such an inkjet printing apparatus, first, pressure is applied to the ink by a pressure device (not shown), and the ink is ejected from the nozzle 1. Ultrasonic vibrations are superimposed on this ink flow by a piezoelectric vibrator 2 to generate ink particles 3. The ink particles 3, which have been given a charge amount according to the recording signal by the charging electrode 4, are deflected by a deflection amount proportional to the charge amount as they pass through the deflection electrodes S and 6 to which a high voltage is applied, and the ink particles 3 are deflected by a deflection amount proportional to the charge amount. A single image is formed on top. Ink particles 3 that are unnecessary in 11 are collected by the 1-collection gutter TK.

Il! is an inkjet device with a monochromatic ink dot diameter of 100 μm! When using ink, even if two types of ink particles are ejected into the same position and the colors are mixed, the dot diameter is at most 120-130 μms, which is difficult to distinguish from the case of single-color ink. If we allow up to two types of color mixture, then this emission 1j

In Figure 2, six types of ink are used: noble cyan, light cyan, fa magenta, light magenta, dark yellow, and light yellow.
This figure shows 21 types of basic color tods and mixed color tods that are expressed when two types of color mixtures are allowed. C, M, and Y are cyan, magenta, and yellow, respectively.

Furthermore, as shown in Figure 3, the colors obtained in this way are viewed as a matrix of kXJ, and if the colors are arranged appropriately in the matrix, an even larger number of colors can be expressed. For example, when a light scene and a deep magenta are used, the intermediate color between the scene and magenta is as shown in Fig. 4(a). b) K indicates 5, IX
