Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for the movement of eyes between a display and an input part, and to reduce a mental burden on an operator, by touching an indication part when a character is to be selected or when an indication for other operation is to be made, thus performing input operation which corresponds to display contents at the touched position. CONSTITUTION:A transparent plastic panel is put on the entire surface of the display screen 1 of a CRT, etc., and the touch panel is touched with a finger to input data at the touched part. On this display screen 1, a KANA (Japanese syllabary) input area 2, a KANJI (Chinese character) retrieval key area 3, and a KANJI retrieval area 4 are arranged. When the area 2 on the panel is touched, a character corresponding to the touched part is inputted as it is and then displayed in an input monitor area 5. For KANJI input, the area 3 is touched to specify KANJI input, and a character corresponding to KANJI in the area 2 is inputted and displayed in an area 4. A display part in the area 4 is touched to input KANJI selectively, and the KANJI is displayed in the area 5.

Conventionally, this type of kanji input method has been: ■ Using a full set of kanji input elements like a kanji tablet, ■ Using a kana character keyboard to encode kanji into two kana syllables and inputting them by seven people, or ■ Kana. A method in which you enter the sound or precept of one or two kanji characters from a character keyboard, display a group of kanji characters with the same reading on the display, and then specify a desired character from among them again. There are some that automatically convert the kanji part of a sentence input in cursive characters based on additional information input, each of which has its advantages and disadvantages. That is, for example, anyone can do ``■'' relatively easily, but even if they become accustomed to searching for characters, the time it takes to search for the characters is not shortened and the device is large. In addition, although the input speed of ■ is fast, it generally requires more than two months of learning before you can perform the operations. Furthermore, although the operation of ``■'' is simple like ``■'', special consideration must be taken when inputting additional information. On the other hand, although ``2'' requires a two-step input operation, anyone can perform the operation immediately and does not have the software disadvantages of ``2'' and ``2''.

The present invention has been made in order to further improve the method (2) above, and its purpose is to reduce the amount of movement of the operator's line of sight, make the operation easier, and reduce the psychological burden on the operator. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for inputting kanji that is easy to use and can reduce fatigue.

In other words, the above method (■) requires a two-step input operation as described above, but in this case, conventionally, the display and keyboard are operated separately, so the input operation is determined by looking at the display screen. It required a three-step process of thinking about the next operation in your head and then moving it, which placed a considerable psychological burden on you.

Therefore, in order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention provides an area in which the arrangement of various keys for input operations is displayed, and
This system utilizes a device in which a coordinate detection surface made of a transparent touch panel is superimposed on a display surface having an area for displaying a group of kanji readings and an input monitor area.

That is, this input method incorporates a recently developed touch input device in which a transparent coordinate detection surface is superimposed on a display surface in the input method (2) described above. Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained in detail using Examples.

The figure is a front view showing an input section of a device used in an embodiment of the present invention, and 1 indicates a display surface made of a CRT. Although not shown in the diagram, there is a transparent touch panel overlaid on the entire surface, so that by touching the touch panel with your finger, an input action will be performed corresponding to the display corresponding to the touched area. It is composed. This display surface 1 includes a kana character key layout, an instruction key layout for specifying various editing formats such as line breaks, a kana character input area 2, and a kanji search key displaying search keys for instructing kanji search operations. An area 3, a kanji search area 4 for displaying groups of kanji with the same reading, and an input monitor area 5 are formed.

In a kanji input device having the above configuration, if you simply touch the part where the kana character key is displayed from the top of the touch panel, the kana character displayed in the touched part will be input as is, and the character will be input as is. It is displayed directly in the 1-input monitor area 5. If you wish to input hiragana characters, specify 17 that you want to input hiragana characters using the instruction key for hiragana input tM, and then perform the same operation.

On the other hand, when inputting kanji, first specify that the following input should be converted to kanji by touching the display part of the Bakuji Kenshi key area 3, and then press the Kana character key. For example, input "ryoku" on the array, and then touch the part of the kanji search key area 3 again. Accordingly, a group of kanji characters whose gaze is "ryoku" are displayed in the kanji search area 4. Therefore, then these e.g. "green"
By touching the part displaying the desired character for ``Charcoal'' from among the group of kanji characters such as ``Chikara'', ``Charcoal'', etc., the character for ``Charcoal'' is inputted and also displayed on the input monitor area 5. The figure shows the state when after "entering kanji", "power" is selected from among "green", "power", etc. and inputted in this way. If there are a large number of searched kanji with the same reading, the area of the kanji search area 40 can be enlarged or the kanji can be displayed as a negative dog.

In this way, when selecting a character or making other operational specifications, by touching the display part, an input action corresponding to the displayed content of the touched part is performed. Therefore, compared to conventional systems in which the display and input sections were separated, there is no need to move the line of sight back and forth between the display and input sections, and the psychological burden on the operator is significantly reduced. In addition, in the above-mentioned embodiment, only the case where the operation of converting kana character input using the kana character key into kanji and inputting it was performed in units of kanji characters was explained. Of course, it is also possible to input in units.

As explained above, the present invention is advantageous in terms of hardware and software in terms of the configuration of the device, and the operator's psychological burden is lightened because there is less movement of the line of sight and the operation is much simpler. It has the excellent effect of reducing fatigue.
