Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively read out data having slip-off of printing and making a data output system flexible by adequately adding an space code to a character code consisting of the significant digits in accordance with output specified format information. CONSTITUTION:Characters entered in a business form are photoelectrically converted by a photoelectric converter 11 in every line, each character is recognized in a reading-out part 12 and the recognized results are sent to a digit edition part 13 as character codes. The digit edition part 13 removes a space code out of the recognized character codes in a field to edit the number of digits of the character codes in the field to the significant digits. The character codes edited into the significant digits are sent to an output part 14, where these character codes are outputted in such a form as a space code is adequately inserted between the character codes, or added to the starting end and final end parts of the character code data by the output specified format information inputted by the operator.
